What will be total usable space for the hypervisor and best practice to allocate the storage.I have three new Nutanix nodes. Physical capacity of Cluster is 79.04 TB and Free logical is 39.52 TB in RF2.

We have Nutanix 3 Node Cluster with ESXI 7 , I am planing for DR with Nutanix. What are the DR option available in Nutanix? Is it using VMWare SRM or Nutanix Protection Domain? what is the minimal RPO and RTO? is it possible realtime replication ?

Hello, is it possible to backup a prism central VM with a protection domain ? and after restoration will it recover its functionality (leap among others) thks

Hello!Need help to understand problem and help. We have 4 nodes. Today saw one node have a problem with the power supply:use this command:ncc health_checks hardware_checks ipmi_checks power_supply_checkResult:1# FAIL: Power supply 1 is down on block block <name>2# FAIL: Power supply 1 is down on block block <name>My next action if physically all fine with PSU.Find in KB7386:Restore the power supply as soon as possible... HI all, I'm preparing a change on the cluster (6 node cluster running AHV). I need to re-ip cvm's and ahv's and add them to a specific vlan (now they are not in a vlan). Before I do this in production I decided to do this on the test lab. (old baby, 4 node G5). I've followed this guide: https://next.nutanix.com/installation-configuration-23/physical-relocation-of-nutanix-clusters-38403 but got stuck step 7 after booting the cvm's. The ouput of svmips shows the old cvm ip's but they are all booted with the new ones. (and accessible via ssh on the new ip's)The output of hostips shows the old ahv ip's byt the are all booted with the new ones. (and accassible via ssh on the new ip's). I must also say that the external_ip_reconfig script hangs at a specific time and now the command “cluster start” gives an error the the cluster is still in reconfigure mode. Anyone here who has the golden tip to get the command svmips and hostips to show the correct ip's? (zk_server_config_file also had the

I have AHV cluster configured 5.5 with multi homing and now i want to add new node to existing cluster. What is the right procedure.

Hello, I am trying to deploy Nutanix CE on a Dell T7600. It is working fine when using AHV as hypervisor.  Can I check which Client is using vDISK in Prism?I want to check the Client assigned the volume group.I can compare iqn and check it, but I wonder if there is an easier way than that.(ex.through the CLI in AHV, CVM)

Hi folks! Does anybody backup Prism Central VMs in a Protection Domain? I was just thinking about that, since I need to move all VMs from one AHV cluster to another. That's because I need to reinstall the cluster with ESXi for compatibility with some VMs. The only way I found out is to create Protection Domains and replicate the VMs to the new cluster. So does this work with PC VMs also? Regards, Andy

Hi all,I have a requirement to automate patching of Operating systems (Windows and Linux) For example - the process would be, Take a snapshot of the server, deploy the updates, test the server services are functioning as expected, if not restore the snapshot.Customer is using ManageEngine Desktop Central which is being used to deploy software and patch client computers. Is it possible to integrate Calm with ManageEngine Desktop Central to achive above automation ?If not what would be alternate way and its overall workflow ? I am looking for direction and some supportive.

Hi Experts,We have a requirement to automate SOC process as much as possible,For example - using ticketing system (JIRA), when a request is raised to block a large list of IP's or domains, the ticket should be implemented automatically with out human intervention.Need to understand,If it is possible to integrate CALM with JIRA workflow ? and how ? If it is possible to automate block/release process of IPs/Domains at security devices with the help of CALM? and how ? What other security related tasks we can achieve with the help of CALM here.Looking for some direction and supportive to move ahead.

My customer ask me about how to config vm power on sequence when start cluster Example Domain Controllers power on firstExchange Server power on secondApplication Server power on thirdMy customer have only PE.Thank you for answer the questions.

So I use the following script to create a VM. I actually have a small batch file that opens putty, logs into a CVM, prompts me for the $name and then runs the script below. The image is one I made, then sysprepped and uploaded as a disk image.Everything works great except that when I then open the console it goes through the Windows setup. I have an Unnattend file but I am unsure how to use it with my script. If I go through the GUI to create a VM I just point it to the unattened file in our file share. Is there a way to attach the sysprep file? I thought it might be a parameter vm.disk_create but I am not clever enough to figure that part out and thought maybe someone else smarter could help. First world problems I know but it could help save me 30 extra seconds of not having to type the admin password in and set the keyboard settings etc.#creates a vmacli vm.create $name memory=$mem num_cores_per_vcpu=$core num_vcpus=$vcpu uefi_boot=TRUE &&#Create C:acli vm.disk_create $name c

How do I get the Hostname/IP of a service running in an application?I assume that by querying the api for the app object /apps/{uuid}, I would get the list of the services and therefore get the uuid of the vm.  But I can seem to find the vm uuid.Any ideas ?

Is AOS single node cluster upgrade an disruptive action? Thanks!

Hi,I have three identical nodes (basic Lenovo servers) but one performs really slowly compared to the others. The disks aren’t the same across all three though. I wonder if anyone has any ideas which difference might be causing the performance issues: Firstly the HDDs are 4TB in the two ‘good’ nodes and 2TB in the ‘slower’ one. I wouldn’t expect that to cause performance issues, just overall capacity will be limited? To be fair the 2TB is a WD ‘green’ and the 4TBs are WD ‘red’ drives. Secondly the ‘slower’ host has a Samsung Pro 840 256GB SSD which Prism reports as often having a higher latency than the HDDs! See the image below  Are they known for being poor in this kind of environment? I’m not really stressing them. Any good logs to see performance issues? I can see the HDD activity light is permanently on on the slower host. Cheers,Steve

Is there any specific way or prerequisite to apply the Nutanix Clam license. I can see the license is available and free but when I select the quantity ( 1 Pack), it does nothing.

Hello all..is there a list with model number somewhere of the Nutanix supported NICs?  I am looking for the cheapest 1Gb dual NICs Nutanix supported that I can get from Amazon or ebay or the cheapest 10Gb..I was reading that supermicro Nic is supported but I don’t see model number so I was wandering if the Supermicro AOC-SG-12 is supported since that card cost about $35..my understanding is the CE and commercial support the same NICs now. My use case is CE for homelab. thanks

Hi All,We have scheduled to perform a Nutanix Cluster upgrade.Existing Setup:3xDell XC730 XD-12 running on AHV 20170830.453 / AOS(5.15.3). This cluster is hosting around 50 VMs.Upgrade to:4* NX 8235 -G7-4215R -CMIs it possible to add the 4*NX to existing cluster and then remove 3xDell XC servers. We are trying to achieve minimum downtime here without major outage.Per Nutanix documentation https://portal.nutanix.com/page/documents/details/?targetId=Hardware-Admin-Ref-AOS-v5_17%3Ahar-product-mixing-restrictions-r.html , it seems mixing hardware isn't feasible. Could you please confirm if there is any work around possible?Regards,

I am facing below error while logging on to Prism Central.“""state": "ERROR", "code": 401, "message_list": [{"reason": "AUTHENTICATION_REQUIRED", "message": "Authentication required.", "details": "Basic realm=\"Intent Ga… “” Any one seen this and can help fix it. ThanksAmit
