Hi,I need to deploy a Nutanix Files service on a 3-node AHV cluster. The goal is to replace an old Windows File Server, so once the deployment is done I will need to migrate all the data to the new Nutanix Files setup.While reviewing the Nutanix documentation, I’m a bit confused about the deployment requirements. Specifically: How many IP addresses are required for Nutanix Files in this scenario? From what I understand, the minimum seems to be around 7 IPs 3 for FSVMs 1 for Data Service 1 for VIP 1 or 2 for internal services Why is it recommended to place those IPs in a separate subnet/VLAN? I’m not sure if this is mandatory or just a best practice. Thanks.

I’ve deployed Nutanix Files using Prism Central, but I can’t figure out how to properly shut down the File Server.When I deployed Files via Prism Element before, I could SSH into the CVM and run afs infra.stop to stop it, but that doesn’t seem to work here.Also, when I check the file server list from Prism Element, nothing appears—so I’m wondering if the CVM doesn’t recognize it as a File Server in this setup.I searched for information but couldn’t find any clear instructions for shutting down Files from Prism Central.If anyone knows the correct method or best practice, please share.Environment:Prism Central: 2024.3.1.2 AOS: 7.0.1.5 FSM: 5.2

when try start the pod on OpenShift failed to mount the pvc MountVolume.SetUp failed for volume "pvc-2cda6c56-7750-4c7a-b3fc-40ff619eb573" : rpc error: code = Aborted desc = An operation with the given Volume ID NutanixVolumes-64dadbc8-464e-451d-661f-5ecc63102edd already exists  any help here

I have replication configured from one Nutanix object bucket to another Nutanix object bucket and it is always stuck at 3. As data is added to the source bucket I can see it replicates, but the 3 objects never seem to clear. This leads to RTO and RPO warnings daily. Is there a resolution to this?

I have to move VM from another infrastructure  (VMWARE) to nutanix  (also VMWARE).Is possible to mount on the source the Nutanix storage via NFS to move the VM Files? I need to have the max speed. Thanks

Hello,Before doing a massive change on a share, I would like to manually create an SSR snapshot to rollback if needed.I searched in Files documentation, in this forum, in AFS CLI. Nothing relevant. Someone has an idea how to do this ?Thanks 

Tried to deploy File Analytics VM about a month ago on my community edition cluster, it has been stuck since then at the ‘Create File Analytics VM’ task and the whole task is at 40% in Prism Element. I have ran an ‘ecli task.list’ but there are no tasks listed as kRunning or Kfailed for this deployment.

Hello Team,One of our customer have a requirement to use a different subnet for Nutanix Volume iSCSI IP address than the CVM IP subnet range. This is because he wants the iSCSI volume traffic not to flow via his firewall. So he intent to use IP subnet for iSCSI Volume same as the VM (iSCSI Initiator) range. Going by the documentation https://portal.nutanix.com/page/documents/details?targetId=Volumes-Guide:vol-volumes-external-ip-address-c.html, it states: “This IP address should be in the same subnet as the cluster Controller VM IP eth0 network interface addresses”Is this a mandatory requirement? Thank you in advance!

I am in the process of copying/moving about 20TB of data from Azure Blob to a Nutanix object bucket and the copy job stops at exactly 2000 files every time I try to start or resume the job. Is there a limit somewhere on the bucket or within the system I am not aware of?

I have been recently exploring the solution around syncing the nutanix object storage with AWS s3 bucket and GCS bucket. I have gone through the object replication to move data from onprem to cloud  Move On-Prem Data to the Cloud with Ease | Tech Bytes | Nutanix University which is pretty straight forward and impressive. My usecase is if I update the content in AWS s3 bucket or GCS bucket will that be replicated on nutanix object storage as well? 

Hello,How can I check the recycle bin in Nutanix v5?I’m facing a space issue with the default container. When I delete a VM, the available space in the container doesn’t seem to change.Regarding the snapshot files, I have snapshots that I can’t delete located in the path /default-container-/.snapshot.

I’m attempting to create a nested share and I’m receiving the following error “Failed to 'create' mount target due to an internal error 'Share path is invalid'.” The fileshare share is already created. I have attached an image of the settings I am attempting to use. I created a “test” share just to recreate the error. Am I doing something wrong?

I am getting Alert A160143: Warning: File Server Replication Job is stuck/idle,Warning: DR dataset replication job 8 has been idle for 2 hours. Out of the 20+ shares, four shares have replication jobs stuck, three at 0% and one at 90%.Any idea how to stop/restart a file server replication job?(Case# 01799860)

I need to migrate a FSVM file server cluster from my older Nutanix cluster to a new cluster. It sounds like there are several options for migrating my file shares that I have listed below. Have you done any of the options below and what would you recommend? 1) Protection domains (Entire FSVM cluster, moves IPs)2) Smart DR (Per Share, moves IPs and updates DNS)3) MOVE > (Per Share, new DNS, and manually update file share configs)  4) Something else? Any insights or experience would be appreciated. Thank you!

We have a cluster with 3 nodes, we have configured multiple bridges for different networks, we isolated the NTNX cluster management traffic on specific VLAN and the Backplane traffic on another VLAN as well, we have a backup network with two different dedicated links on a different VLAN.This backup network which the Veritas NetBackup software is in, and as far as I know it supports Nutniax clusters backup via a plugin, the backup host in our setup is on a different VLAN on a different bridge, so it's isolated from Nutanix cluster management and cluster VIP.What is the best way to get the backup solution working with the mentioned setup, is there a way to expose the Nutanix API and allow access for that VLAN on dedicated bridge via different IP? or we have to configure network segmentation for KVolumns service? and if so, what the recommended way to route the traffic between the CVMs and the backup network bridge?Thanks

Tried getting there from “Files” link in main demo.nutanix.com portal, or from the “Files Console” link underneath Files.  This doesn’t affect Files Analytics or Data Lens, except any links that take you to the Files Console will prompt.The admin creds provided don't work.

Has anyone set this up? I am having issues with Connectivity test from Storware/Nutanix Files I think that its URL related but the errors are very undescriptive 

Hello folks,There is a requirement to configure Oracle RAC in a Nutanix environment.The hypervisor will be used with AHV, and license it plan to use is NCI Starter.It appears to be possible to implement this by using the Nutanix Volumes functionality to reference the Shared Disk as an iSCS target to the internal Guest OS.In the past, there was no cost for internal use with Nutanix Volumes, but now with the new license format, will an additional NUS license be required?
