I’m creating a File server via PrismCentral

Limitations

File servers created with the Files Manager do not support the following features:

  • Prism-Element-based disaster recovery (DR), including clone and remote site activation
  • Network segmentation
  • Multi-VLAN

 

It’s clearly written that network segmentation is not supported, but during wizard (and as explained below in the same web page) you can specify a client network and a storage network in different VLANs.
What is not exactly supported about network segmentation ?


In my cluster, I configured network segmentation with a dedicated network for “Volumes” (iSCSI) traffic. Can I use this network as “storage network” during File server wizard ? Is this supported ?

So definitively, network segmentation is not supported with PC deployed File servers
 

Will this be supported in a future release ?
