Hey folks,I have created an Alerts dashboard for a cluster. The project is meant to be an enhancement to the Analysis page in Prism in terms of data visualization. You get a single page view of the alert stats generated in your cluster.https://github.com/nkunnath/dash-alerts-ntnx Please feel free to try it out and let me know if this has been useful. Any suggestions/improvements/ideas are welcome. Cheers!
Hi everyone,I want change current CVM memory size from 32GB to 40GB (AOS 5.15, NX model)but when I select Configure CVM in the Setting page, there is no option for 40GB from dropbox (only 36GB, 48GB and 64Gb)But when I checked on other Nutanix cluster (AOS 5.20, HX Model)I can choice 40GB from dropbox. So is it behavior change from 5.15 to 5.20? or It depends on Hardware model (NX vs DX)Ref URL: CVM Memory ConfigurationAnd if I want to change CVM memory to 40GB, I must using CLI?
Prism Central pc.2021.5 added the ‘Resiliency Status’ to the Storage widget which is a cool idea. However all of my PE clusters in this widget show as Unknown with a callout that reads “Details are unavailable in Clusters < 6.0”.Looking at the latest downloads available online I do see a version 6.0 of AOS for the STS release path so I assume that we’ll have a wait a little while longer for us LTS customers.
In case you have to configure a snapshot frequency for a business critical application that can sustain a maximum of 40 min of data loss, is it better to configure the snapshot frequency of the protection domain at 15min or is it better to set a 30min frequency?
Do you still wonder which one to use Number of vCPU or Number of Cores per Socket when configuring a VM? You read something about it and it makes sense and you think you will now remember only to stumble upon the same dilemma sometime later. Shall we clear this once and for all? vCPU and cores are inherently bound to a NUMA node which, in essence, is as a processor with direct attached memory. Under some (but not all) conditions, accessing memory or devices across NUMA boundaries will result in decreased performance. Hence the goal is to configure a VM with CPU and memory values that remain within the boundaries of a single NUMA node. The exception would be a NUMA-aware application. Another thing to remember is that hot add of the number of cores is not supported on AHV meaning adjustment of number of cores value for a VM requires the VM to be a powered off. To ensure optimal performance of the VMs in the cluster follow simple rules: Use vCPUs instead of cores to increase the

Hi Team,We could see multiple alerts are getting triggered for the "cluster_IOPS" as mentioned below and kindly assist us on it to resolve it . Alert: QOS_NUTANIX_CLUSTER_IOPS = 5619.0 on XXXX has crossed the informational static threshold of >3000.0
HI, I need help The current version of Nutanix isAOS 5.10.10.1AHV 2017830.396is.I'm having a problem with the SMTP side, so I'm asking this question.I've been working with a firewall engineer. After opening all ports, I tried to send an SMTP test mail, but I did not receive it.All AHV hosts have a gateway. The problem is that it succeeded in sending the test mail normally, but did not actually receive the mail.SMTPConnection status indicates Failed. The firewall engineer said that the ping test packet was confirmed, but the packet when the SMTP test mail was sent was not.I need some advice on which part is the problem.

Showback allows you to configure and monitor the resources cost of your application blueprint. Perform the following procedure to enable showbackBefore we begin:Ensure that Showback is applicable for Nutanix and VMware through vCenter platformsProcedure: Log on to Prism Central as an administrator. From the Prism Central UI, click Services > Calm Click the Settings icon on the left pane. Under the General tab, click the Enable showback toggle button. The Enable Showback window is displayed. Click the supported provider for which you want to define the cost. Configure the cost of the following resources. vCPU: In the vCPU field, enter the cost of vCPU consumption for each hour in dollars. The default value is $0.01 for each vCPU for each hour. Memory: In the Memory field, enter the cost of memory consumption for each hour in dollars. The default value is $0.01 for each GB of usage for each hour. Can I check which Client is using vDISK in Prism?I want to check the Client assigned the volume group.I can compare iqn and check it, but I wonder if there is an easier way than that.(ex.through the CLI in AHV, CVM)
Hi folks! Does anybody backup Prism Central VMs in a Protection Domain? I was just thinking about that, since I need to move all VMs from one AHV cluster to another. That's because I need to reinstall the cluster with ESXi for compatibility with some VMs. The only way I found out is to create Protection Domains and replicate the VMs to the new cluster. So does this work with PC VMs also? Regards, Andy
Hi all,I have a requirement to automate patching of Operating systems (Windows and Linux) For example - the process would be, Take a snapshot of the server, deploy the updates, test the server services are functioning as expected, if not restore the snapshot.Customer is using ManageEngine Desktop Central which is being used to deploy software and patch client computers. Is it possible to integrate Calm with ManageEngine Desktop Central to achive above automation ?If not what would be alternate way and its overall workflow ? I am looking for direction and some supportive.
Hi Experts,We have a requirement to automate SOC process as much as possible,For example - using ticketing system (JIRA), when a request is raised to block a large list of IP's or domains, the ticket should be implemented automatically with out human intervention.Need to understand,If it is possible to integrate CALM with JIRA workflow ? and how ? If it is possible to automate block/release process of IPs/Domains at security devices with the help of CALM? and how ? What other security related tasks we can achieve with the help of CALM here.Looking for some direction and supportive to move ahead.
I got some issues with having some logs showing up in Splunk. I managed to get the account login [Fail & Successful] by adding in the PRISM modules but now I need to get the account creation / deletion showing up in Splunk. I can’t seem to find the msg be it account or creation. Is there a need for me to add in other modules as well? I am kinda stuck with this step. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
How do I get the Hostname/IP of a service running in an application?I assume that by querying the api for the app object /apps/{uuid}, I would get the list of the services and therefore get the uuid of the vm. But I can seem to find the vm uuid.Any ideas ?
I am working on setting up a Custom role for end users to self serve market place apps. Problem is that I can’t see where I can remove access to Polices (Image Placement), Hardware (GRU), and Files. They don’t appear to be in the action list.
Is there any specific way or prerequisite to apply the Nutanix Clam license. I can see the license is available and free but when I select the quantity ( 1 Pack), it does nothing.
How to calculate cluster cpu ready time using python and REST API? I am having performance issue in finding whether my clusters are over utilized or under utilized. If I can get cpu_ready_time_ppm or cpu steal time for each cluster, it will help us ? Let me know if there is any other direct way to find it.An early response will be highly appreciated.
I am facing below error while logging on to Prism Central.“""state": "ERROR", "code": 401, "message_list": [{"reason": "AUTHENTICATION_REQUIRED", "message": "Authentication required.", "details": "Basic realm=\"Intent Ga… “” Any one seen this and can help fix it. ThanksAmit
