Today we’re diving into the architecture of the blueprint. EraNutanix Era is a database management solution that that automates the provisioning and protection of Postgres, MySQL, Oracle, and other databases. We deployed an Oscar e-commerce site, backing it with containers running on Nutanix Karbon, a PostgreSQL database cloned by Nutanix Era, and the static image content stored on Nutanix Buckets. Today, we’re going automate this entire deployment in Nutanix Calm. Calm models applications end-to-end using blueprints, allowing you to deploy those applications across clouds and automate their entire lifecycle from creation to deletion, including rolling updates during the application’s lifecycle. Gents, I have alerts in PRISM " Upgrade NGT version on VM to latest " to all VMs. Must I start one by one ? what's steps should I do ? Is there any effect in VMs ? *Note: VMs in production

Is there any API to get VM UUID given VM name or any work around to get that? Is it possible to delete a VM given only VM name with API? Thanks in advance. Regards, Pawan

How do I update Prism with no downtime?

How can I license our Prism Central? It's running a Pro Trial license now. I've generated a Generate a cluster summary file, but when I try to upload it in the portal I get the following message: Insufficient licenses available to upgrade from your current license type of Starter. Manual registration results in the same error. We have an appliance Ultimate license for 7 nodes.

Is it possible to customize the prism ui? (for example add own logo)

So, does anyone know a way of getting information on what error codes mean what? Like a KB or something of error codes?

Execute REST calls from a Linux machine rather than using the GUI (Prism) I would like to know if we can execute resp api query inside the curl command to create events such as VM create, delete, etc and get the response to the query I made through curl ? It's would be very helpful for us to help the client to automate the process of creating events/triggers through the Prism manually. Client has the Nutanix Prism and AHV in their network setup and creating these events manually.

Hi All, I ran a Foundation upgrade pre-check on my single node cluster and now Prism times out when trying to log in as a standard user or admin and when I try to run acli in a ssh session to the cvm I get "Failed to connect to server: [Errno 111] Connection refused" Where to from here? Thanks in advance, Chris

Hi! I have a problem. When I try to create, delete or do a other action I always get the SYS_FAILURE but the Tasks goes through and work perfectly. After that I try to delete the action that was created but there I get again the SYS_FAILURE I work with VMware. There I cant find an error the VMs are created and deleted when I do the specific Action, so it has to be a Calm configuration error. Has anyone experienced this in some way? Thanks for your response!

Any ideas what or where to fix this alert in Prism Central?

Hi All I am new to Nutanix and coming from a VMware environment I confused. I have a 3 Dell XC Cluster and I access the whole thing by a cluste IP address which puts me in Prism - the Prism says I have not registered with Prism Central - If only have one cluster do I need Prism Central, what benefit does Central give me? HI I can see my Prism Central VM in Prism Web Console but it is not powered on and I get a no entry sign when I try to power it on, however in the CLI I cannot see the VM - where is it , am I in the wrong place and how do I power it on?

Maybe it is helpful for some others: when I'm deploying a preseeded blueprint I face the issue that the default timeout for the "check login" is too low; the result is that the application deployment throws an error: "script execution has failed with error Client cannot connect to the destination specified." After increasing the delay time to 60 seconds the deployment works fine; you find the "Delay" Setting under Service -> VM -> Connection

Hi, I recently updated NOS to 4.6.1.1 and now when I'm trying to look for new updates it stuck on Loading... and I can't see if new updates are available. It's the same thing for all tabs (Acropolis, Hypervisor, Firmware, NCC, Foundation). Is there someone could help me about this ?

Hi When a blueprint creates an appliction the values of the variables are displayed on the overview page of the application. However if the variables contain calm macros, for example @ @{address}@@ then that text is display and not the value of the macro. I have a blueprint which creates a web service that the user who runs the blueprint needs to connect to using their web browser. My idea was to have the URL in a variable so it would appear in the overview page and the user could just copy and paste it into their browser. It would be even better if the blueprint could open the web page for the user.

I installed Prism Central but when I try to log, all the user and pass are bad, I try with , admin admin, admin Nutanix/4u, admin nutanix/4u Any idea?

Hi I have a calm blue print which the user can use to create an app which does some processing depending on the value of variables specified by the user and stores the result in persistent storage. But then the user has to remeber to delete the application. Is there any way to get the blue print to delete the application affter it has done the processing? I can shutdown the VM by having the service start call service stop with a task to execute "shutdown -h +1" but that still leaves the app

I deployed a Nutanix Cluster (AOS version 5.8) with ESXi 6.5. And I deployed a Prism Central 5.8 on it. There're some articles on internet, saying App Management supports ESXi, starting from PrismCentral version 5.7. Is it true? In my case, I can't find Self Service & Apps from the pull-down list, when I click question mark icon in the main menu on PrismCentral 5.8. I did see "PC Scale out", "Enable app management" and "Microsegmentation", but not "Self Service & Apps". When I click "Enable app management", I see the following error. Precheck failures: Host Cluster Registered Please check that the cluster on which this Prism Central is hosted is registered to it. I had already registered my Nutanix cluster into this PrismCentral. It looks to me that App management or self service doesn't support ESXi, correct? Or is there anything I missed?
