Is there anyway to send an email from a blueprint task ?
I am working on setting up a Custom role for end users to self serve market place apps. Problem is that I can’t see where I can remove access to Polices (Image Placement), Hardware (GRU), and Files. They don’t appear to be in the action list.
As seen in this attached screenshot, Prism Central appears to have lost track of this “running” task. Updates of network security rules normally finish very quickly (I think might have clicked an apply button twice after editing a FLOW security policy during on-site FLOW training.) Is this something only Nutanix Support can clear away?
What problems or impacts can I have after upgrading the Prism Central to a version that is not compatible with the AOS of the sites that are managed by Prism Central? Will I have any unavailability to access the PE of the remote site via the web because of the version that is not compatible with Prism Central? For example I will update the PC to version pc.2020.11.0.1 and AOS of my PE will be in version 5.11.2 which by Nutanix matrix is not compatible. I cannot update the AOS of the EP at this time.
Hi,we just upgraded our prism central instance to the most current community edition version of Nutanix (2020.09.16). We also upgraded our cluster successfully. For this to happen I had to unregister the cluster from prism central first (with the help of: https://portal.nutanix.com/page/documents/kbs/details?targetId=kA00e000000XeZjCAK). After everything was updated I wanted to register the cluster again in prism central, but after some time I get the error message “Error: Failed to create remote connection”. I found this KB article: https://portal.nutanix.com/page/documents/kbs/details?targetId=kA00e0000009BwxCAE and executed all the steps therein (which are mostly the steps I already had done), but the issue persists. On the prism central VM I can see the following entries in the “prism_gateway.log” file when trying to register the cluster: WARN 2021-05-12 15:17:55,410Z http-nio-0.0.0.0-9081-exec-8 [] commands.auth.PAMAuthenticationProvider.checkFailedAttempts:395 Failed to check th
Hello! Our customer "ASSA" have recently deployed a new nutanix node (NX-1175S-G7) , this new node is already on rack and cabled to the respective switches. We have 3 nodes on NX-1065S and 1 node on NX-1065-G6AOS Version: 5.9.2.3The problem is:-On Prism > Hardware > Overview i can see 1 new discovered node-But when i click on "Expand Cluster" it doesn't show this new node to do the process I tried the command: ncli cluster discover-nodes with this result:nutanix@NTNX-16SM13440170-A-CVM:10.63.4.16:~$ ncli cluster discover-nodesArch : x86_64Cluster Id :Controller Vm Address :Controller Vm Gateway :Controller Vm Netmask :Current Network Interface : eth2Foundation Version : unknownHypervisor : phoenixHypervisor Address :Hypervisor Gateway :Hypervisor Netmask :Hypervisor Version : phoenix-4.6.2_6e9b7fc8Ip : fe80::2e0:edff:feda:671c%eth0Ipmi Address :Ipmi Gateway :Ipmi Netmask :Node Position : ANode Uuid : e29c0c0e-7e41-4a96-88d8-f4696d456043Nos Version : 0.0Rackable Unit Model : NX-1175
Hi All, i need to export the *.nutanix.local cert in a text format, does anyone have the commands to do this?
Hi.I’m the first to admit that I read the documentation for Calm a bit too quickly and didn’t really reflect on the meaning of “The Prism Central in which Nutanix Calm is running is registered with the same cluster.” and “Nutanix Calm is supported only on AHV and ESXi hypervisors on a Nutanix cluster.”After trying and failing to run this on an existing VMware cluster, that the Prism Central/Calm installation doesn’t own, I re-read the documentation and realized that I’d glossed over the actual requirements.I mention this to clarify that this isn’t a post about unclear documentation or incorrect requirements. I goofed, as simple as that. :)What I do want to know though is why these requirements exist. I have talked to my contacts at Nutanix and I so far I haven’t got a proper answer to this question. Can anyone please explain, in detail, why I can’t run Calm on an arbitrary VM?
Hi, i have been trying to give custom vm name by cloning vm via rest api 3 But i have been receiving error overided_spec was unexpectec i.e used to provide vm name.Input Body: {{ "override_spec": { "name": "Android 9 clone 26 April" }, "metadata": { "uuid": "a0e3e028-b53b-424c-bcbb-bf99c119fb92" }}Output:{ "api_version": "3.1", "code": 422, "message_list": [ { "details": { "": [ "Additional properties are not allowed (u'override_spec' was unexpected)" ] }, "message": "Request could not be processed.", "reason": "INVALID_REQUEST" } ], "state": "ERROR"}overrided_spec was refered from the link:api vm clone
Does any one know the syntax to get the first 3 characters of the project name ? The documentation is not clear. It talks about support for slicing for strings. For example, @@{foo[3:6]}@@, but it doesn’t seem to work.
Network segmentation enhances security, resilience, and cluster performance by isolating a subset of traffic to its own network. The four primary means of network segmentation are the following:Isolating Backplane Traffic by using VLANs (Logical Segmentation) Isolating Backplane Traffic Physically (Physical Segmentation) Isolating Service-Specific Traffic Isolating Stargate-to-Stargate traffic over RDMAWe will discuss on how to secure traffic associated with a service (for example, Nutanix Volumes) by confining its traffic to a separate vNIC on the CVM and using a dedicated virtual network that has its own physical NICs. This type of segmentation therefore offers true physical separation for service-specific traffic. You can use Prism to create the vNIC on the CVM and configure the service to communicate over the dedicated virtual network. However, you must first manually configure the virtual network on the hosts and associate it with the physical NICs that it requires for true traffic
Nutanix® Calm is an application orchestration solution that our customers use to deliver infrastructure and applications to their end business units. With the Calm marketplace, IT teams can create a self-service portal for their operations and developer teams. Likewise, with Calm, the end-user can start, stop, and scale an application based on their requirements and team roles, freeing up cycles from the IT team.At Nutanix, we are all about your freedom of choice: from hypervisors, to hardware, to clouds. Calm blueprints today can deploy applications and services not only on on-prem hypervisors, but also on popular public clouds, such as Microsoft Azure, AWS and GCP. Calm decouples applications from their underlying infrastructure and harmonizes operations across cloud environments. But until now, these capabilities were only available to customers running on Nutanix AOS, our powerful, software-defined HCI platform. We are excited to announce General Availability of Calm SaaS (see sign
Hi Nutanix community,I am trying to create a report based on this: How to create a custom Virtual Machine report in Prism Central and my report fails. Any idea what might have gone wrong and where to see this?
JSESSIONID cookie used by Prism is not being set. Tried with available options. Any one has succeeded in doing this?
We have two Prism Central in our environment. Is there a way to link two PrismCentral ?
I am trying to figure out how to pass variables to a calm runbook through a JSON post via the API. /api/nutanix/v3/runbooks/runbooku_uid/run{ "kind": "runbook" "spec": { "args": [ { "name": "network_name", "value": "Test123" }]}}
I’ve had a very frustrating experience with Self-Service via Prism Central (pc.2021.1.0.1).We do not have CALM, but since Nutanix does have Self-Service with Prism Central, we’ve been trying to use that feature for our users. However, the solution is very flaky with some of the issues below:Poor RBAC. The roles seem target to CALM. Why show Blueprints when CALM isn’t licensed? Difficult to provide as-required privileges for a self-service user. The user can create VM recovery points, but cannot see them for recovery (tried all built-in roles). Dead links. Self-service users see links for CALM, Files, Karbon. However, when clicked, they either throw an error or unavailable message or log the user out. Self-Service user sees more info than required. Can download cluster keys, etc.If Nutanix can provide a solid Self-Service experience in PC without CALM, that’d go a long way in attracting new customers and then later the customers may explore CALM.
I’m tuning RBAC to provide Self-Service users with just enough permissions for CRUD operations on VMs and Recovery points using the API and custom roles. When trying to create a VM, I see the following message with the “VM Template” radio button greyed out: There are currently no VM templates available in the projects that you are a part of. So, where is the association of VM Templates to a project? I created a couple of VM templates by creating the required images and adding them to the catalog. Is there some special permission required for this (because playing with RBAC has made this greyed out)?
Hello Analysis exported VM CPU, VM memory usage in CSV file but I can't adjust the time interval. Is there a way to adjust the time interval when I get export? Is it possible manually?
Hi, Is there any way to automate the addition of a VM to the Catalog (for PC Self-Service)? i.e. REST API/acli/ncli/anything? I couldn’t find it and want to confirm.
I want to create to vm’s using REST API by selecting one of Catalog Items.I can create vm via catalog items via Prism Central Dashboard. When i try to create vm via REST API, i can not find any reference to give Catalogs Items vm template there. How to give vm templates in vm creation using REST API?
I’m using AOS 5.15.4 and Prism Central pc.2021.1.0.1. Been trying to Update a VM’s categories using the v3 API PUT operation, but I keep getting the following error:{'api_version': '3.1', 'code': 409, 'message_list': [{'message': 'Edit conflict: please retry change. Entity CAS version mismatch.', 'reason': 'CONCURRENT_REQUESTS_NOT_ALLOWED'}], 'state': 'ERROR'}I’ve seen others get the same error as well, but without any resolution mentioned. Tried a few suggestions (use_categories_mapping = True, machine_type = “PC”, checked spec_version) depending on suggestions in forums/Support Portal, but nothing worked. Also, I’ve noticed (from release notes in various versions) that this error appears now and then with mentions of it being fixed. What is this error and why is it plaguing the v3 API? An update operation with PUT is very useful for automation and customization. Do the versions of PC and PE (mentioned above) that I’m running have this bug which is fixed in a later version of PE (AOS),
Hello!I have an LCM inventory task that seem to be stuck in my cluster. It is stuck at 5% since 2 days ago. Please, help me to solve this issue. The following command shows that there's not LCM process running:$ acli task.list include_completed=false | grep lcm
Hi, we are getting 100’s of copies of a simple PC report (a clone of one of the built in reports). It seems after time change on Sunday AM the reports w/ schedules seem to trigger an hour earlier than they should. So they then run over and over until the time actually triggers. For example:Daily Report scheduled for 7am, runs at 6am (over and over - 718 times last count) until 7am (it runs over a bit, eg. 7:05am which I assume is just it catching up w/ the que). I have deleted the reports, created brand new ones, setup new schedules, checked time on PC CVM (is correct). Tried to restart services/cluster stop/reboot, etc. Even tried updating PC to 2021.1.0.1 (which fixed a PDF reporting issue we had, but not this one). Anyone else having this issue?
Hi,I created a custom network(does not have internet access) in PC and assign it to an android vm but its fluctuating. It is not connecting to that network. (Also tried by creating diffrent subent, same issuse ).While this issue occurs only in Android Vm, Not in Linux,Windows VM.Linux and Windows VM were easily connected without any issue.See GIF for more clarification.
