I was honored by my company, and recieve 1 block 4 nodes NX-3060-G5 for use on my own projects. It’s a old node without support and inside of EOL list. What happened is that, i don’t know how, received an alert saying that AHV had a crash on files. But 20 seconds after the host was okay, and the alert was solved itself. But, 3 machines which was working into this node crashed too, preventing access through console, migrate the VMs, power off, etc. I tried remove the host for reimage it, but is stuck: And when I ran the NCLI command to remove the host, trying get the status, shows the follow:  Anyone could help me for solve this issue? I accidentally deleted a few good VMs while cleaning up after migration from VMware to Nutanix, couldn’t find a straightforward way to restore them from recycle Bin just Like on a normal Computer, So the easiest way to was to re-migrate the VMs needed.If only i could just go to cluster recycle bin and do the restoration would save a lot of time!!

How to Manage replication bandwidth with Protection policy based replication (AZ)

We’re migrating from Vmware to AHV in parts of our environment.  In Vmware, our helpdesk has permissions to reboot virtual desktops.  Our desktops are all in one folder and their rights are limited to “View”, “Console” and “Change power state”.  How can I do this in Nutanix Element?  It doesn’t look like I can create folders.  And it looks like my options are pretty much administrator or view only.  Am I missing something?

Hello.I detected a problem using the latest kernel 6.1.0.-25-amd64 with all my VMs under Nutanix. I recently upgraded all my Debian servers from version 12.6 to 12.7: in version 12.6 the linux kernel in use was 6.1.0-23-amd64 and in version 12.7 is 6.1.0-25-amd64. The issue is related with the download speed using this kernel in all my upgraded VM’s. It’s extremely slow. So after 2 days trying to figure out what was happening (installing debian 12.7 in a new VM same problem....installing in VirtualBox no problem at all), so I decided to rollback to the old kernel, maintaining the Debian version 12.7 (with kernel 6.1.0-23-amd64) and the problem stopped. I’m using the following system, see picture:  Here are some speed tests: 

Hi, Sorry if my english is poor, i’m trying to describe my problem as short as i can.Recently, we’ve bought new G9 NX appliance, and migrate all our production on it, that great.So now, we got 18 G5 NX node.I made 2 clusters of 9 nodes, no problems.My problems starts here :- With one of my collegues we want to try to create a bridge but without plug the ethThe test we want to do was successfull, and we were making somes XRay bench by the same time.-Finally we want to suppress this bridge and it’s now possible, i got a message were “Curie Scenario failed to revoke token.I’ve tried to follow KB7071 but nothing is solve.There is some jpg of my AOS & CVM I’ve even check if i can kill a queued or running task with ergon, but not finding it.Its impossible to put host in maintenance mode or doing a LCM by now.Please help me :)  

Hi there We are running pc.2023.4.0.2 and because we would like to upgrade to AOS 6.8.1, we need to first upgrade the Prism Central to pc.2024.x. However, upgrading from pc.2023.4.0.2 to any pc.2024.x at the moment, it’s not supported. As of today, the latest PC Version is 2024.1.0.2. I do understand the upgrade N to N+2, but when it comes to PC, i don’t know what N+2 means relative to pc.2023.4.0.2.Considering that AOS 6.5 is going EOM in Oct 2024, we are a little afraid that we’ll not be able to upgrade our AOS’es 6.5.x to AOS 6.8 in time, because PC 2024.x is a prerequisite for AOS 6.8. What to expect here, and how to proceed? Best regards,Casian

I'm looking for information about VM creation with REST API or Postman, and so far I can't find anything “good”, I find it strange because Nutanix always have very good information, but in this case I can't find much, neither videos, I know there is no Test Drive. But they should have some videos on this important topic.

Hello All,We have a Nutanix POC and I am playing around with the permissions. I am trying to create a role/category for our Cohesity backup. What entities are needed for the role. I assume cluster and VMs, but I am getting “Requested entity doesn’t exist” when trying to add the Nutanix source to Cohesity. It works fine when I add the source with a Prism Admin account. Can anyone point me to the proper permissions needed. TIA TJ

From prism Central Element, I am trying to deploy Prism Central. When I go for create new Prism central through Prism Central Element GUI, it did not list out available versions. Instead, it just shows “No compactible versions for Deployment”. Following is what I have. I am using nutanix hardware.Version 6.8.1 - COMMUNITY LicenseNCC Version: 5.0.1LCM Version: 3.0.1.1 Not sure, how I can deploy prism central If I do not have binary. If I uncheck the option “Only show compatible versions”, it lists out following public version.pc.2023.4.0.2pc.2022.6.0.10pc.2022.6.0.11pc.2022.6.0.12 In that case, I had deployed pc.2023.4.0.2 but i never able to get GUI. I suspect the compatibility issue.Any help would be appreciated.

Our company is just starting on on our Nutanix journey, we are currently deployed in NC2 and have setup Oracle 8.9 VMs on AHV.  We have setup the Entra ID integration to the Nutanix Console, but we were looking to setup user authentication to log in to the local Oracle Linux 8.9 servers, but have not been able to find a runbook on how to do this if it is possible.  Can you integrate Azure Entra ID with a AHV VM that is running on NC2? The bare metal is running in EastUS.  Any assistance or direction would be greatly appreciated. 

Has anyone completed an integration using Azure Site Recovery to protect a Nutanix VM and performed a test failure to Azure with a successful failback to on-prem?  I have seen a couple of blogs on treating the Nutanix VM as physical, etc.  Just wondering if this is being used to success out here in the wild and any knowledge you may have gained.  Thank you kindly.

Any update on using copy/paste from our workstation/laptop into a VM Console of windows VM hoted on AHV cluster? How Do I Enable Copy and Paste in AHV? | Nutanix Community this would be a great feature to implement but it does not seem to be any information as to when this would be available and we would be deploying 3 new AHV Clusters so not sure if this is on the pipeline. thank you

Hi all,Today we have Set up a Windows file failover cluster.WE have configured a volume group with one vdisk for quorum and one volume group with two vdisks for data.Windows see the two disks in the second volume group seperately. WE have attached the volume groups directly to the Windows VM.Why is the volume group seen as seperate disks?Should it not be only one? Regards,Thomas

Hi,         I am doing 4 node AHV cluster decomission. I did all the steps and finally gave cluster destroy and ensure it was destroyed completely. I want to do factory reset of all the nodes where the hypervisor /cvm configurations like hostname, IP etc will we wiped out. Let me know the procedure on this. Thanks.

I need to edit XML <feature> <hyperv mode> <cpu mode> by command “virsh edit vm_name”on the host.but when powered off VMs there not show UUID on any host. acli vm.update cannot edit XML file like “virsh edit vm_name”

Hello, I am seeking your assistance with enabling replication on my cluster, which consists of 5 servers and 60 VMs. I am undecided between Metro mode and Asynchronous mode on Prism Central. Given that I have two clusters using Metro-type replication, we encounter difficulties when Metro mode is activated, as clients experience significant slowdowns on their VMs. This is why I am considering enabling Asynchronous replication on Prism Central. My question is: if I activate Asynchronous replication on Prism Central while other clusters are using Metro mode, will this have any impact? Thank you for your help. 

How can I find out the address of UUID when it is powered off? I need to edit some custom option by command “virsh edit vm_name” before power on.
