Recommended configuration for rsyslog server in PE and PC

IHAC who has configured splunk as their remote syslog server. They have also configured “Audit” module for both PE and PC. To test the logging, they are able to see events such as VMs powered off and on in splunk. But they are not able to gather any information on events such as user accounts creation / deletion, as we tried to create some local accounts in PE and PC to test. Do they need to configure anything else to capture such events?

Hello community members,On the *Intelligent Operations” dashboard in Prism Central, we can generate various reports. Is it possible to do exactly the same tasks using the API (v3 or the upcoming v4) ?I mean creating filters, generating and downloading the PDF or CSV etc. BestKévin

Nutanix - Server is not reachable

I am new to this companies Nutanix system and we’re getting “Server is not reachable” from the Prisim login screen.I’m getting information overload trying to find where to start diagnosing this issue. Hoping someone can point me in a direction of what to try first. I am remote so I cannot interact with the system directly.

Volume groups on nutanix and VG on linux

I am going to install oracle database server .So i created a volume group. with sperate disk for seperate mount points but inside oracle vm i need to create a LVM partition . So again i have to combine these disks to vg and then create lvm .  so here in this case i have created 2 vg one on nutanix and one one linux . does it add another overhead and cause performance issues ?

Prism Central registration failed; pre-registration checks issue encountered

HiI have AHV version 20220304.342. I have deployed Prism Central version pc.2022.6.0.5 but when I try and register it I get an error message under tasks that tells me:Pre registration checks - failedThe reason is showing as ‘The username or password entered is incorrect’I have tried all different combinations for the user ‘admin’ and have even changed it but still the same?I also went into Local User Management and created another admin user account but still got the same result using that one too?Any advice welcome please? Many thanks

On the Prism analysis page, I want to see the disk usage chart for the VM.I created Chart by adding Disk Usage(%) to Metric, but I got No dataIt's coming. Is it a feature that's not supported?

How To Send a Report to Slack

The Reporting feature of Nutanix Cloud Manager Intelligent Operations enables you to create reports and schedule them to be e-mailed on a regular basis. But did you know you can also send these reports to Slack? While the reporting framework currently only allows you to specify e-mail, you can set up a time-based playbook using Nutanix’s low-code/no-code automation tool (also known as X-Play), along with the Generate Report and Slack actions.Note: Be sure to set up your Slack app as per the documentation. You’ll also need to ensure that the file:write permission scope is granted to the app.Once you have a report configured, set up your playbook. From the main Prism Central 2023.3 dashboard, select Intelligent Operations from the drop down menu, then navigate to the hamburger menu > Playbooks. Unable to launch Prim elements from Prism Central.

Hello,I added a secondary Cluster to my Prism Central loaded in another site. Inside Prim central im unable to do launch Prism elements of this cluster. I get a error saying. " This action is not supported on unreachable cluster" Ports 80/9440 are open between all CVMs/Nodes and Prism central. I can see data from the cluster in Prism central, so I'm just wondering what I'm missing?

SSL cert Prism Central issue

I receive the following error when trying to use a public signed cert in Prism Central:Unsupported signature algorithm detected on one or more certificates in CA chain. Please refer to the FIPS 140-2 documentation for more information. I did the same for Prism Element a few days ago and that went fine. Followed the exact same steps (minus the FQDN of course) for Central but this throws an error. What's the difference between the 2?
