How do we browse Nutanix containers from command line to check what is contained in it.

Hi I have confuse about the output of the AHV network command "mange_ovs show_interfaces", In the result, I can check the link status and speed of the NICs. But what is the meaning of mode ? I attached a snapshot as the following that give the output of a node in AHV which have 10Gb and 25Gb nic cards, but the mode all display 10000. What is the meaning of mode?

Hello guys, Can anyone please help with NCC Health Check report on Email? The purpose is to receive NCC Health Check every week on Tuesday at 7.00 AM CET. I configured NCC report frequency via Nutanix Prism Central on each nutanix cluster But now I receive a report each Tuesday and Wednesday at 7.00 AM CET. I have tried a method to disable NCC frequency and setup it newly, but no results, no changes. You’re probably aware all the CVMs and hypervisor hosts in a cluster need to have IPs in the same subnet, but what about the IPMI? What are the requirements, and what’s involved in changing the IP? The requirements are actually quite flexible. The IPMI does not have to be in the same subnet as the hosts and CVMs. You’ll see an alert and a cluster health warning if you don’t restart the genesis service on the CVMs after making changes, but the configuration can be whatever works best for your organization. We just purchased Nutanix ( 2 Appliances , 3 nodes on each ) , we are planning to use VMware Enterprise plus on them. I've few questions, I would be more than happy if I get the answers: 1- if we used VMware, all Nutanix functions will be applied ? ( for example, if one HD failed, the data will be transfered to another Hard disk? ) 2- If I'm using 3 nodes, and I'm utlizing all the CPU and Memory and HD capabilities for all three, once one node goes down, how the VMs on this node will go to the other nodes while we are utlizing their full capacity? 3- if one node fail, the VMware VMs on this Node will be Automatically moved to another Node ? 4- In general, is there any difference if we used Acropolies or VMware ? will we get the same functions on Nutanix?

We are trying to setup SCOM Management Pack 2.4 with SCOM 2012 server. I have created LDAP (Windows Domain) account for Prism and IPMI access, i do able to validate with prism account but i could not IPMI. I am using AOS 10.5 with NX 1065 G6. I have tried to create IPMI local account and then tried to validate SCOM Management pack. It worked fine. I tried to validate with LDAP account but i am getting below error. for better administration i am trying to use LDAP. error validating ipmi account with "x.x.x.x" IP. Continue with next CVM Address? I have opened case with Nutanix. Just i want know whether Nutanix support to configure LDAP auth with SCOM. Any help will be much appreciated.

I'm trying to create a vm from our CentOS75 gold image. Pallavi Akella from Nutanix created the CentOS gold image using Disk and not an ISO. When I provision vms using powershell script. update the Clone.csv where I enter the following info name,VlanID,VMRam,Vcpu,cores,VMIP,clone,Image name,VlanID,8,2,2,VMIP,CentOS75, and save the file. Next I run cloneNTNX.ps1 script to provision the vm. This script also runs connect-Nutainx.ps1 and Create-NTNXVM.ps1 script. When I run the cloneNTNX.ps1 script I get below error. I want to exclude some disks from my snapshot, using Rubrik on my Nutanix VM. I use the script from rubrik (which is a Patch) to exclude some disks from my nutanix vm like this: { "excludeDiskIds": [ "diskid1", "diskid2" ] } I get these disks id from the nutanix API (which is a get), but when I snapshot the machine from Rubrik the disks are still included. Am I doing something wrong? Is the "Nutanix Disk ID" equal to the one requested from the Rubrik script?  Thank you

What is the recommended maximum storage utilization in a cluster? Customers can observe cluster issues when they use more than 90 percent of the total available storage on the cluster. Here is a brief explanation on the recommended storage utilization in respect to the replication factors 2 & 3.  For a cluster to be considered healthy and functioning as expected, the cluster has to tolerate at least one node failure for data resiliency.  Here is an explanation on how much free space you need and how to calculate it.   The formula for calculating the maximum recommended usage for clusters is one of the following: Recommended maximum utilization of a cluster with containers using replication factor (RF)=2 M = 0.9 x (T - N1) Recommended maximum utilization of a cluster with containers using replication factor (RF)=3 M = 0.9 x (T - [N1 + N2])

On your Nutanix and vSphere cluster you may have recently seen this alert stating “Storage Containers are not mounted on all nodes”. This may have started showing up after some cluster modifications or maintenance, or could have appeared after some recent upgrades.  You’re probably wanting to know, what is this alert for? How big of a problem is it and what do we need to do to fix it? I’d like to answer those questions for you. This alert is generated through a recurring NCC check “Storage Container Mount Configuration”. First off it’s useful to know that the main purpose of this check is to validate the configuration of  a Metro Availability pair of Nutanix/ESXi clusters. Can someone confirm the drive placement for SSD and the SATA drives in our Dell XC740xd servers?   On one cluster of servers, there are four SSD drives in bays 0-3 and in the other two clusters the SSDs are in the last four bays.    I have only seen the SSD drives in the first four drive bays.

Hi,Our metro cluster is running AOS5.10.8.1 (since yesterday’s update from AOS 5.10.8) on x8 NX-8035-G6. During an LCM update for bios and HDD, a node failed due to a bad DIMM. The node pair were eventually evicted from the meta data ring at which point support were supplying a replacement DIMM. After a lot of coaxing both nodes were back in the cluster and hosting vSphere6.5 without any apparent issue, however, since the outage we are being warned in PC\PE and NCC that the active and standby PDs are not mounted on all nodes, even after manually ensuring that the containers are available and connected correctly. Support have advised that this is a known NCC error and just wondered if anyone else in the community has experienced this issue? Thanks in advance

Hi    I followed the steps in page to upgrade NCC. I can upgrade NCC by a single installer file (ncc_installer_filename.sh) successfully. But I cannot upgrade NCC by a compressed tar file (ncc_installer_filename.tar.gz). After extract the installation package, I type command to run the install script as below. It showed “Installation of ncc failed on node xx.xx.xx.xx” . I tired to run the script on each cluster, they generated the same error. How to troubleshoot the issue?   

is there any storage motion or container motion if i using ahv? and if not, how we move vm data from one container to another container?
