Nutanix Files is a software defined, flexible, file storage service.  Since its early access release in 2016, Files has been focused on simplifying and consolidating network attached storage (NAS) for the enterprise and supporting use cases from end user computing through video surveillance and medical imaging. In parallel, Nutanix engineering has been executing on act two, evolving Files into an intelligent data management platform for the hybrid cloud.  One of the first steps in this second act was introducing File Analytics in 2019, a native and integrated software offering to help you audit user activity, detect anomalies, and derive deeper insights into your unstructured data. With the release of Nutanix Files 3.8 and File Analytics 3.0 we progress further into act two, delivering more flexible and efficient remote replication to help enable hybrid cloud disaster recovery.  We also extend File Analytics to include native ransomware intelligence, custom reporting capabilities, and da

The Internet of Things (IoT) landscape is a jungle. The sheer number of IoT platforms, portals, and solutions makes it extremely difficult to choose the right solution to a given problem. When working with IoT, you get used to a lot of trial and error, running tests, and doing proof of concept (POC) installations. Having a stable and flexible platform for running those installations and tests becomes crucial.I have worked in the IoT space for several years with customers of varying organization sizes, ranging from large private enterprises, to public-sector, to small startups. Throughout my experience, I spent a disproportionate amount of time designing and setting up infrastructure for running my tests or POCs.In this blog, I demonstrate how the Nutanix® Karbon™ Platform Services (KPS) platform-as-a-service offering  simplifies deploying infrastructure, running quick POCs, and providing stable production environments for IoT use cases. KPS accelerates innovation by freeing you to focu

Nutanix launched Foundation Central in May 2020 as part of its ongoing goal to make infrastructure invisible.Foundation Central extends the deployment services already available from Foundation and makes zero-touch centralized deployments scalable and easy. Once equipment has been racked and cabled, organizations do not require any IT specialists at the datacenter or remote IT site to install or rebuild any of the IT infrastructure software.Nutanix recently launched further enhancements to Foundation Central with version 1.1.We have made several UI improvements to provide increased information about the nodes, including ones being discovered. The image below shows nodes being discovered and the ones that are available for cluster deployment. The following image below shows how nodes can be grouped by categories such as serial number and host type.A customizab

Nutanix was founded with a bold vision: to make managing IT infrastructure so simple that it becomes invisible. We made compute, storage, virtualization, and clouds invisible—a technology stack that practically runs itself. Now, we’re making the support needed to operate such a complex stack invisible too. While Nutanix continues to deliver products that are simple and easy to use, underneath, the complexity and availability of ecosystem options for the technology stack has continued to increase.2011: Hyperconverged Infrastructure stack2020: Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure stackThe disruptive Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI) solution that Nutanix pioneered a decade ago originally consisted of Nutanix NX nodes, AOS software, the ESXi hypervisor, and Prism management software. This post was authored by Bhavik Desai, NutanixNutanix has been disrupting enterprise IT infrastructure for over a decade now, evolving from servicing VDI and dev/test workloads to powering the most demanding and performance-intensive workloads for more than 17,000 customers, across industries and around the world. When Nutanix engineers began designing AOS, the software foundation of hyperconverged infrastructure, they made some key architectural decisions that resulted in a very resilient, highly scalable, and performant architecture. Some of them were:Fine-grained metadata, which enables flexible and dynamic data management, which also provides fast recoveries during failure scenarios and migrations. As a result, we recommend you take the exam as many times as you want and work towards a 100% passing score. If you do answer an item incorrectly, we will provide you with information explaining why the correct answer is right and the other options are not at the
