Assistance installing community edition for testing

Hey Team,I need a little bit of assistance here. I am new to Nutanix and currently attempting to deploy the community edition for some testing. However, I’ve been following several different guides out there and not having much luck.Installing on VM using ESXi 7.0 (VM version 17). I created new VM w/ Centos 7 compatibility and loaded the ISO.ISO was downloaded from here:https://next.nutanix.com/discussion-forum-14/download-community-edition-38417And md5sum matches.The ISO loads and boots up. I then go through the CLI UI installation and get past to the last screen where it should start installing but then get an error that I need help troubleshooting:Last Screen:Then the Error right after the previous screenshot:Looking at the error, there is reference to minimum requirements but I’m pretty sure I meet them on this VM but if this is what it is, then I can look at a newer beefier server to test on:8CPUs24GB of MemorySata1 20GbsSata2 50GbsSate3 50Gbs​Anyone seen this error before? Regarding the last_update_time not being updated for VMs

Hi everyone, We’re using v3/vms/list endpoint to get the information for the VMs. We’re getting last_update_time in the response. Truncated response for a VM:"metadata": { "last_update_time": "2023-06-08T10:49:22Z", "kind": "vm", "uuid": "cff450d3-dd1f-4d7d-9651-9b38164cb7e5", "creation_time": "2023-06-08T10:49:01Z"}I was expecting that if we change any properties of the VM like RAM, Disk Space, etc then last_update_time should get updated. However, irrespective of the value that we change, the last_update_time doesn’t get updated. Additionally, there is no time field which we can use to track the VM updation. Is this an expected behavior? Please let me know if I am missing something.

Cisco WLC with AHV (Virtual Guest Tagging)

I wanted to check in to see if anyone has done a Cisco WLC with AHV, we are migrating from VMWare and currently use VGT (VLAN 4095) but it doesn’t look like there is an equivalent. Has anyone been able to get this working?

Regarding the pagination not working for v3 hosts endpoint of Prism Central

For our development work, we are using /v3/hosts/list endpoint. As per the specs, we want to use length and offset for pagination to fetch large number of hosts. We tried using it as follows:curl --location --request POST 'https://<host>:9440/api/nutanix/v3/hosts/list' \--header 'accept: application/json' \--header 'Content-Type: application/json' \--header 'Authorization: Basic abc' \--data-raw '{ "kind": "host", "length": 1, "offset": 9}'However, length and offset params doesn’t seem to be working. It returns all the hosts (2 in our case) irrespective of the params passed.  Also, we used the same params in /v3/vms/list and they are working as expected. So, wanted to know if this is expected or is this an open issue? Is there a way to get all the hosts through Prism Central (v3) APIs?

Failed to clone a VM with Ansible

In waiting for possibility to deploy VMs from templates with Ansible (see https://next.nutanix.com/ahv-virtualization-27/how-deploy-vm-from-prismcentral-template-with-ansible-nutanix-module-41800), i’tm trying to use cloning, see playbook below.  The demo playbook with same parameters works fine to get cluster info for "{{ prism_cluster }}".The cloning fails with error  :KeyError: 'cluster_reference'What is missing in playbook ?Thx

lsscsi --scsi_id displays different scsi_id identifiers for RHEL 7 and 8

Hi All ,I had created two VM’s of RHEL7 and RHEL8 in AOS 6.5.2 and while validating the SCSI id’s for disk using lsscsi --scsi_id command for RHEL7 am getting vendor specific SCSI_ID identifier and for RHEL8 am getting NAA scsi_id identifier. Is it possible to get the vendor specific scsi_id identifier for RHEL8. Rhel7 SCSI_ID:   Rhel8 scsi_id:  Types:  ThanksTeja K

aged entity centric 3rd party snapshots

I am getting this warning on my Prism CentralWARN: VM ad_linux_test has 1 snapshot(s) that have existed in the storage for more than 7 days.Refer to KB 4273 (http://portal.nutanix.com/kb/4273) for details on aged_entity_centric_third_party_backup_snapshot_check or Recheck with: ncc health_checks data_protection_checks protection_domain_checks aged_entity_centric_third_party_backup_snapshot_check I dont see any VM by name ad_linux_test in my inventory.I have also checked Prism Central UI -> Virtual Infrastructure -> VM Recovery Points -> Select the VMnothing in that  I am not sure how to cleanup this snapshot. I dont want to extend the warning threshold as per the KB 4273

HelloThere are sites that have VDI configurations.Files configured on the above site.There is personal storage allocated for each user using Files.Is there a way to recover only one piece of personal storage other than a full backup of Files using Data Protection?

Hello, under storage details I have had a Snapshot listed using 1.36TiB for a few weeks now and I’m not able to locate where it is. Is there any commands that can help me find it?  acli snapshot.list does not list any

What is ICAP and integration with Nutanix files

Change Nutanix AHV NIC From access Mode to Trunked Mode

Nutanix Datastore Online and Accessible. Unable to Mount to ESXI

We are running a Nutanix environment with 3 CVM nodes (A,B,C) on 3 separate ESXI hosts (7.0 Update 3) with 3 IPMI configurations using vCLS. Originally, Node A failed during an FSM upgrade and was unable to talk correctly to our Houston Datastore (MCQ-HOU). In doing so, there was no snapshot and we were unable to roll it back. We were currently in the midst of attempting to create a new node on the same ESXI host (.204) through Nutanix Prism but when searching for any existing or accessible hosts it does not find any of them and we are unable to create a new one. We attempted to shut down the cluster, unmount the Datastore on the broken node and re-mount it once we were able to clone a functioning node and change the configuration. In doing so, we are now unable to mount the datastore with the following commands and were presented with an error:esxcli storage nfs remove -v 192.168.5.2:MCQ-Hou Unmountesxcli storage nfs add -H MCQ-Hou -v MCQ-Hou -s 192.168.5.2 MountPlease see the VMkerne

AD User unable to access VM console on Prism Central

AD user is having trouble accessing the VM console on Prism Central. They can log on normally to Prism Central. After clicking the VM, only a blank page with the name of the VM appears instead of the console. There is no "FAIL" status after the health check that I ran. Additionally, I verified that RBAC allows users to access the VM console.After PC was updated to version pc.2022.6.0.3 with LMC 2.5.x, PE software was upgraded on AOS 6.5.2.5, and AHV 20220304.342, and this problem appeared. Is there a chance that this problem can be resolved?
