Buenas Nutanixeros!

Hey guys,I'm trying to use Nutanix Move to migrate some VMs from Vmware to Nutanix, but Nutanix Move requires Virtual Disk Development Kit (VDDK) 7.0.3.1 and, as usual, Broadcom doesn't provide this VDDK to proceed the download. Does someone has this VDDK and can send me?Tks,Marcelo Ortiz

Hello everyone,I am currently facing an issue and need assistance. I am unable to locate and download VDDK 6.0.3, which is required for Nutanix Move to Upload and migrate VMs from vSphere ESXi 5.1.I have already checked the VMware (Broadcom) website, but the minimum version available for download is VDDK 6.7.If anyone has the VDDK 6.0.3 file saved or knows an alternative source for obtaining it, I would greatly appreciate it if you could share it with me.

Hi everyone,We are currently assessing our migration strategy to move workloads from VMware to Nutanix infrastructure. However, we recently noticed that public access to the VMware Virtual Disk Development Kit (VDDK) has been restricted/removed.Given this recent change, we have a few questions for the community regarding how it affects Nutanix Move and our upcoming migration plans: Impact on Existing Integrations: Does this restriction impact any already running or existing VMware integrations with Nutanix Move, or is it strictly limited to new deployments/re-installations? Obtaining VDDK Files for New Setups: If we want to deploy a new Nutanix Move setup today, how can we properly acquire the required VDDK files? Do we need to raise a support case or request direct assistance from Broadcom? Functionality After Upload: Once we manage to source and upload the correct VDDK file into Nutanix Move, will all migration features and functionalities (such as Changed Block Tracking / increm

Sorry for this noob question but in the instruction says VDDK library. When I select the tar file the upload fails. If I unzip the folder I am not sure what file to select. Any tips?

I am setting up Nutanix Move. I need to migrate from ESXi to AHV and am looking for the VDDK. The link in the manual returns a 404 error. Logging in with my Broadcom account doesn't change the result. Do you know where I can find it? https://developer.broadcom.com/sdks/vmware-virtual-disk-development-kit-vddk/latest

So I’m currently in the middle of a Nutanix Deployment and are in the process of setting up our Nutanix Move 6.2 application for our new Nutanix environment.  The goal is to start migration of VMs off our existing VMWare 8 environment.  I noticed that Nutanix Move requires VMware’s VDDK (Virtual Disk Development Kit) in order to safely snapshot, clone and restore VMs for third party developers.Originally I put a ticket in with Nutanix and as part of their KB about setting Nutanix Move up.  It mentioned going to the latest VDDK available on Broadcom’s page and downloading it.  Unfortunately that link no longer works:   So next step was to open a ticket with Broadcom’s support.  Broadcom’s response was the VDDK (Virtual Disk Development Kit) has moved to VMWare’s TAP portal (Technology Alliance Program).  You have to be enrolled with a support contract.  Which I am and just updated my profile to enroll in the TAP program. I later received an email as part of the onboarding process for TA

Hello,I have successfully deployed Nutanix Community Edition (CE 6.8.1) in my home lab. When I attempt to log into Prism to activate the cluster, I receive an error stating: "Your .NEXT account does not have the required Community Edition role."Could a moderator please assign the Community Edition role to my account so I can complete the activation? My .NEXT email : abdou-elmatine.elmsafi@teal.ma username : ABDOUELMATINEThank you!

wanted to share a real-world scenario I recently encountered regarding Prism Central account lockouts and see how the community handles similar setup challenges. The Issue:Our primary local administrator account on Prism Central kept getting locked out unexpectedly. After inspecting the logs, we traced the issue to an external automated log integration (like a SIEM/Splunk collector) executing API calls using stale credentials.Even after disabling the integration at the source and resetting the admin password, the lockout behavior occasionally persisted due to cached sessions or residual background API requests.

We're designing a Metro/synchronous replication setup between two AHV clusters (PRD and DR), using a single Prism Central instance deployed at a third site to manage both clusters, host the Witness Service, and run our Protection Policies / Recovery Plans.Additional context: DR is also running some VMs directly (on a separate, non-replicated local container) due to a temporary memory capacity constraint on PRD. These VMs are not part of the synchronous Protection Policy — they're independent workloads currently living in DR.Our question: If the third site with the PC becomes completely unreachable at the same time PRD goes down, what is the supported method to manually promote the DR-side replicas and bring the protected VMs online at DR?

I would like to confirm the correct process for identifying and verifying an OS image that is compatible with my Nutanix Kubernetes Platform (NKP) version before uploading the image to Nutanix Prism Central.Could you please provide guidance on:How to determine which OS images are officially supported for my specific NKP version. Where I can find the list of supported OS images and their corresponding NKP versions. How to verify the compatibility of an OS image before uploading it to Prism Central. Which image format and required image properties should be used. Whether there is a compatibility matrix, documentation, or tool that can be used to validate the image. How to confirm that the uploaded image is ready to be used for NKP cluster deployment. The objective is to ensure that I select the correct and supported OS image before starting the NKP deployment and avoid compatibility-related deployment issues.

We are preparing to decommission an existing ESXi cluster so we can rebuild it on AHV using Foundation.Referencing this guide as the procedure: https://portal.nutanix.com/kb/22284I have some questions about the process.Step 4 lists "Shut down or migrate all user Virtual Machines (Guest VMs) running on the ESXi hosts. Ensure the only powered-on VMs remaining on the hosts are the Nutanix Controller VMs (CVMs)." Makes sense.Step 5 and Step 6 are stopping the cluster and destroying the cluster. I'm still with you. Step 7 is to power off all CVMs. Sounds good. Then the guide loses me.Step 8: With all VMs (including CVMs) powered off, place the ESXi hosts into Maintenance Mode. From the vSphere Web Client, right-click each host and select Maintenance Mode > Enter Maintenance Mode.Step 9: Disconnect the hosts and remove them from the vCenter inventory. In the vSphere Web Client, right-click the ESXi host and select Disconnect. Once disconnected, right-click the host again and select Remove

In Azure and AWS we can create labels on node pool, but in NKP there is no way to do it?

Hy guys, i access enviroment for download version NKP ultimate version for install binary, but not change because redirect dor site.can have trail temporary? This is for laboraroty em presentation, i have account for others version but cant version NKP.

I’m beginning my journey into Nutanix Kubernetes Platform (NKP) and want to learn more about how administrators can effectively deploy, manage, and monitor Kubernetes clusters on Nutanix.Specifically, I’m interested in: Cluster deployment and lifecycle management on NKP Integration with Prism Central and AHV Networking (CNI plugins) and persistent storage with Nutanix CSI drivers Monitoring and logging with Prometheus/Grafana Security, RBAC, and workload governance Real-world use cases for hybrid cloud and DevOps pipelines I’d love to hear insights, best practices, and experiences from others who have worked with NKP in production environments.

Same as this topic, which was closed despite the user informing that the permissions did not enable launching element: https://next.nutanix.com/how-it-works-22/custom-role-help-45391 I’ve tried various auth policies to try to allow access.

Hi all,I am trying to install Nutanix on a former Dell VxRail node. The server is a Dell PowerEdge R640, and it has been re-branded back to a standard Dell R640 in iDRAC - the installation is only for Lab/testing, not for production.I have tried several installation combinations:Latest available AOS/AHV versions — although I understand these may not be supported on this older hardware Latest supported combination I could find for this platform: AOS 6.5.1.8 AHV 20220304.336 In all attempts, Foundation fails during the installation with the following error:CRITICAL svm_rescue: No suitable SVM boot disk foundAOS installation failed.
