Where to download Prism Central 5.1 or latest version

Hi, I read the post [url=https://next.nutanix.com/t5/Prism-Central/Download-Prism-Central/m-p/7863#M1]https://next.nutanix.com/t5/Prism-Central/Download-Prism-Central/m-p/7863#M1[/url]. But after clicking on the download link for ESX, it turns out to download version 4.6 (I think this is an old version). How can I download Prism Central 5.1 or latest version? Or it is not free for download at all? Thanks, Liang

Prism Central Login in 5.5

running through the big 5.5 upgrade this weekend and I'm running into a currious issue.After installing a fresh copy of prism central 5.5 (we never used it befoer 5.5, but now it's required), I cannot seem to get the ad authentication to work. The connection is configured, and I can still search for and map groups to roles (so I know at least some ofthe AD integration is working), but when it comes time to actually login ... I keep get that I'm using a bad username/password. Release notes mention that everything is UPN based, but that's basically always been the case for my company anyway (we've always logged in using upn).Anyone else run into this?

Bad planning chart CPU data?

This one is stumping me. I opened a low priority ticket to get some official info, but i figured i would ask here to see if anyone else has had a similar experience: Background: we received an alert from prism central that one of our cluster's was going to run out of CPU soon. I checked in the hypervisor (esxi) and in prism element and in central under analysis but i could not find an issue. Then, i checked planning and it shows us running out of CPU very soon. At first i thought the initial load up was skewing the data, but when i looked closer, i noticed that the value planning was using for our current usage was at 50Ghz, when the hypervisor is reporting 12Ghz (cluster of 3).I pulled all of the other cluster's planning data and all of them have the same problem, CPU usage is being greatly over reported on the planning chart. Charts under analysis agree with the hypervisor, but these are looking at % usage, not hz. What gives? is there a bug in how planning is calculatin

Prism central task list

I understand , Prism central is primiraly used to manage Nutanix Cluster (i.e .Storage Cluster), it means ,we can perfom any tasks like to add new containers(Datastores) to ESXI Cluster , or any tasks related to Storage. can any one provide a document which will show what else we can do with respect to ESXI and Vm management from Prism central.or if u just write down tasks we can perfrom on ESXI and VMS from Prism. Unable to explore VMs in Prism Element

Hello - We just recently performed and AOS upgrade from 4.6.1 to 5.0.3. This checked out by all accounts but now I have an issue where VMs are not displaying in Prism. There is an error stating "Exception while retrieving entities." Has anyone seen that before? NCC health_checks look pretty innocuous.

After cluster upgrade prism stuff on Pulse will be enabled

I upgraded my two clusters, now when I log into prism after I authenicate it takes to the page 'Pulse will be enabled' I click contine and nothing happens. I've tried multiple browsers. I've rebooted prism. Not sure what else to try.

Analysis tab data export question

Hello everyone, I have a question concerning the analysis tab on the Prism Element UI. To get started i will shortly explain what our current situation is: Last year we sold some Nutanix boxes to a customer. In this contract we also included monitor/management services. As an agreement, every month we schedule a meeting with our customer where we evaluate performance of the nutanix clusters. There are 3 main fields we focus on during the meeting; Cluster host usage, storage performance and storage usage. Deploy VMs on AHV using Salt-Cloud (SaltStack)

We have begun leveraging SaltStack for machine states, as well as VM deployment on ESX using SaltStack's Salt-Cloud component. We are however rolling out a pilot deployment of Nutanix gear with AHV, and of course would want to be able to continue leveraging Salt for VM deployment. There are ways of managing KVM via livbert, but this is probably not the right thing to try and do with AHV. Is there anyone out there who may be writing/written/using something that ties SaltStack into the Prism API instead? If not, Nutanix, interested in writing a SaltStack module? :D

How to group virtual machines based on application in Prism console.We have different applications running in AHV. And we need to segregate those virtual machines in to groups (similar to folders in VMware) for better identification and control. Kindly let us know what is the way to to do the same.

Prism Central vs Prism Element AOS version differences

Hello, What is the best practice for upgrades to AOS for Central and the individual clusters? I believe I read that Central should always be updated in advance. Also, are there any consequences to having a cluster at a greater or lesser AOS rev than Central? For example, 5.0.3.1 is GA for my individual clsuters but not so when I check for Prism Central. Hello guys!We have 2 Nutanix boxes with 3 nodes each. Both boxes were warning about all configured nameservers are in the same /** network. Ok, this is an issue we can't fix right now, so I've turned check off. On 1 box it worked fine and we got the "green heart". On another box, for some reason, this warning has stopped on 1 of 3 nodes. At GUI the Warning table shows 0 warnings, but when I run "ncc health_checks system_checks dns_server_check" it shows 2 warnings (one for each node): Detailed information for dns_server_check:Node 172.**.**.*0:WARN: All the configured nameservers are in the same /** network.Node 172.**.**.*1:WARN: All the configured nameservers are in the same /** network. Once this check is off, it shouldn't show us this warning, right? Is there a way to turn it on/off through CLI? Thanks!!

Removing Self-service Administrators

I can't figure out how to remove the Self-service Administrator rights from a user. In the self-service portal configuration, the account is under Users. I assume it needs to be removed from here, but I don't see any options to delete the user. Anyone have any suggestions?

Self Service Portal Roles

Hey I'm a little confused by the Roles in self service portal. It looks like you can have only one role per Project. Is this true? If so, how would i go about giving only certain users ability to create VMs in a Project while having others being able to login and see the VMs in the same Project. Also, it looks like if one user creates a VM in a project then other users don't have the ability to see those VMs. The only way i've found to see all the VMs in one Project is if you happen to be a Cluster admin. Am I just missing something? Thanks!

How to rename CVM Container?

Is there a way to rename the CVM Container without rebuilding the container? The vendor who recently re-installed the Nutanix Block didn't follow the directions and named the container incorrectly. The container has 4 Virtual Servers running on them and I would like to preserve these systems without the need of rebuilding them. Could I place each VM in the Local NTNX-local-ds (SSD) datestore since the 50GB available is larger than each VM? Then Destroy the Container and Recreate it? Thanks,David

CVM ZeusLeader hits low available memory

Hi all, we encounter one of our CVM with 32GB RAM hitting the alert that it have low available memory (1GB) which is the ZeusLeader. I got to a call with Nutanix Support and I was told this is normal and we would encounter from time to time. We do have a workaround with restart the cluster but somehow we would want a better solution - Why does the CVM (Leader) uses so much memory ? considering that we already allocated 32GB have already use up a significant portion - What happens when the CVM have no more available memory ? Will the leader failover or Nutanix will run into issue ? - Is there any way to better manage the memory issue for the CVM leader ? SSP when using a a trusted certificate

has anyone been able ot use the SSP feautre while usinga trusted 3rd party wildcard certificate? At least for us, the feature only works if we use the self-signed certificate. Any attempt to get to the SSP using a 3rd party cert results in "Oops - Server error" and little else. Considering this is an end-user facing site, that presents obvious problems.So just doing a reality check: anyone out there using a 3rd party wildcard cert and getting a working SSP?

Hey, We recently upgraded on of our clusters to AOS 5.01. This process went flawlessly!
