Hi, I got notification RED Heart about one Cluster Services has critical status. But I do the Manual check and no error occurs. How can I determine what happen? Many thank for your advices.
Hi Can anyone tell me what is the difference between the controller IOPS and disk IOPS? is controller IOPS all the traffic from VMs goign through CVMs and disk includes some other stuff none-VM related? I don't understand how some time Controller IOPs is higher than disks and some times it's the opposite. Thanks
From the Support Portal site there's an announcement that Prism Central v5.1.5 is available to download but the link takes you to v5.1.4. -Matt
Hi All,I'm trying to copy a disk image between 2 containers, but this seems impossible when the PE is connected to PC. The error is: "Operation kImageCreate not allowed when PE is registered to PC". NOS: 5.5PC: 5.5Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
I tried to install Prism Central, the task named "download and deploy prism central" is now 100% since three days and i cannot stop it through PRISM interface. I have seen that ncli has a "task" command, but looks like not useful. I have been trying to find the task with "progress-monitor" command, but it shows nothing related to prism central. How can I stop it? Or at least clean the task to proceed with a new installation?
I've SSH'd to my prism central server and I'm trying to run the "authconfig" ncli command but I receive the error "java not installed". Currently running Prism Central v5.1.4. I've run the same ncli command when SSH'd to my CVM's in the cluster without issue. -Matt
Hi, we installed last week the latest version of Prism Central (5.1.3), when we tried to add a New Workload into new scenario, based on "Existing VMs" we have always the following error: "RPC error kTransportError raised" If I add an SQL Server as Wordload, Prism Central works fine. Br, Emanuele
Hi all, I have a 13 node AHV cluster (5.1.3 / 20160925.90) where all my VM's (around 70) - status is randomly changing from On (which they are) to unknown. The VM's are running just fine but it seems Prism is unable to get their correct status. Also the CPU usage is constantly reporting exactly 50/100% when they are seen as on - regardless of their actual use - and 0% when off. Have anyone seen this before, or have an idea what could cause it? NCC is not reporting anything of interest so I'm very puzzled.
I have noticed that image (.ISO) uploads to image configuration in Prism fail at 4 Gb. the upload seems to be fine then IE throws the error that IE has crashed. When you re-open Prism, it looks complete, but it's at 4Gb when the actual .ISO was 5,6,7 or bigger. It works fine in Chrome. Is this a known issue? I see it mentioned in other threads; https://next.nutanix.com/t5/How-It-Works/Windows-2016-server-install-on-AOS-failing-with-driver-errors/m-p/22053/highlight/false#M901 The message in Prism changes from "Uploading file 65%" to "Loading data..." (screenshot 2) and then IE crashes. Then after you log back in, the upload always has failed at 4 Gb.
Hi, I read the post https://next.nutanix.com/t5/Prism-Central/Download-Prism-Central/m-p/7863#M1. But after clicking on the download link for ESX, it turns out to download version 4.6 (I think this is an old version). How can I download Prism Central 5.1 or latest version? Or it is not free for download at all? Thanks, Liang
running through the big 5.5 upgrade this weekend and I'm running into a currious issue. After installing a fresh copy of prism central 5.5 (we never used it befoer 5.5, but now it's required), I cannot seem to get the ad authentication to work. The connection is configured, and I can still search for and map groups to roles (so I know at least some ofthe AD integration is working), but when it comes time to actually login ... I keep get that I'm using a bad username/password. Release notes mention that everything is UPN based, but that's basically always been the case for my company anyway (we've always logged in using upn).Anyone else run into this?
This one is stumping me. I opened a low priority ticket to get some official info, but i figured i would ask here to see if anyone else has had a similar experience: Background: we received an alert from prism central that one of our cluster's was going to run out of CPU soon. I checked in the hypervisor (esxi) and in prism element and in central under analysis but i could not find an issue. Then, i checked planning and it shows us running out of CPU very soon. At first i thought the initial load up was skewing the data, but when i looked closer, i noticed that the value planning was using for our current usage was at 50Ghz, when the hypervisor is reporting 12Ghz (cluster of 3).I pulled all of the other cluster's planning data and all of them have the same problem, CPU usage is being greatly over reported on the planning chart. Charts under analysis agree with the hypervisor, but these are looking at % usage, not hz. What gives? is there a bug in how planning is calculatin
How to reduce size storage VM on PRISM? when I tried to reduce size storage vm i got error "Reducing the disk size is not allowed". Thanks
Hi, I Receive below notification, about Metadata Usage on Cotroller VM has exceeded 50%, any suggestion on this? which path should i check?
Hi, I am looking for a complete MIB SNMP.I see that, in Prism / SNMP / View MIB, there is a MIB. But I wonder if this list is complete. AOS 5.5Thanks, Pierre
I understand , Prism central is primiraly used to manage Nutanix Cluster (i.e .Storage Cluster), it means ,we can perfom any tasks like to add new containers(Datastores) to ESXI Cluster , or any tasks related to Storage. can any one provide a document which will show what else we can do with respect to ESXI and Vm management from Prism central.or if u just write down tasks we can perfrom on ESXI and VMS from Prism. Thanks in Advance.
Our Prism Central machine is currently on VMware hardware compatibility 8; is it ok to increase this to 11 or 13 with no issues? Thanks!
anyone know how to check system uptime on Nutanix Prism?
How to enable/disable pulse configuration via Rest API
Hello - We just recently performed and AOS upgrade from 4.6.1 to 5.0.3. This checked out by all accounts but now I have an issue where VMs are not displaying in Prism. There is an error stating "Exception while retrieving entities." Has anyone seen that before? NCC health_checks look pretty innocuous.
Hi, How can I change the date format on Prism? It's currently mm/dd/yyyy and i'd like to make it dd/mm/yyyy Thanks Tom
I upgraded my two clusters, now when I log into prism after I authenicate it takes to the page 'Pulse will be enabled' I click contine and nothing happens. I've tried multiple browsers. I've rebooted prism. Not sure what else to try.
Hello everyone, I have a question concerning the analysis tab on the Prism Element UI. To get started i will shortly explain what our current situation is: Last year we sold some Nutanix boxes to a customer. In this contract we also included monitor/management services. As an agreement, every month we schedule a meeting with our customer where we evaluate performance of the nutanix clusters. There are 3 main fields we focus on during the meeting; Cluster host usage, storage performance and storage usage. (See picture below) In this report we include all the data we extracted from the analysis tab on Prism Element. We import this data into excel and pour that data into graphs. (See picture below). This is where our problems arise. As you can see we need both monthly & lifetime graphs from our data. In order to get to this graph we have to: -export the data from Prism Element *You cannot select begin & enddate so after we export we have to manually trim the data to
We have begun leveraging SaltStack for machine states, as well as VM deployment on ESX using SaltStack's Salt-Cloud component. We are however rolling out a pilot deployment of Nutanix gear with AHV, and of course would want to be able to continue leveraging Salt for VM deployment. There are ways of managing KVM via livbert, but this is probably not the right thing to try and do with AHV. Is there anyone out there who may be writing/written/using something that ties SaltStack into the Prism API instead? If not, Nutanix, interested in writing a SaltStack module? 😃
Hello. I need a way to proxy SSP with NGINX. I found a configuration that works fine for all the SSP operation except the VM console. As I see the console use VNC and I don't know how to proxy this. The NGINX config file is as follow: server { listen 80 default_server; listen [::]:80 default_server; server_name _; return 301 https://$host$request_uri;} server { listen 443 ssl; server_name localhost; access_log /var/log/nginx/access.log main; error_log /var/log/nginx/error.log error; ssl_certificate /etc/nginx/ssl/nginx.crt; ssl_certificate_key /etc/nginx/ssl/nginx.key; set $prism_url 'https://20.172.59.29:9440'; set $sspuri '/ssp'; set $sspapi '/api'; set $sspstatic '/static'; location / { proxy_set_header Host $host; proxy_set_header X-Real-IP $remote_addr; proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-For $proxy_add_x_forwarded_for; proxy_set_header
