I have an older Lenovo ThinkStation PC running Intel Xeon W3540 cpu with 24GB of memory. Would I be able to install the latest version Nutanix CE onto that PC or is that doomed to fail. I would like to test out Nutanix since I will be working with Nutanix in the near future. Thor.
we’re having an issue installing NGT from PC. The iso gets mounted but the installation doesn’t start, it sits there for a while then gives the errorNGT_INSTALLER_ERROR: Failed to establish secure connection with the UVM: 56i have run the following $certificate = New-SelfSignedCertificate -DnsName $env:computername -CertStoreLocation cert:\LocalMachine\My winrm create winrm/config/Listener?Address=*+Transport=HTTPS "@{Hostname=`"$env:computername`";CertificateThumbprint=`"$($certificate.ThumbPrint)`"}" cmd /c 'winrm set winrm/config/service/auth @{Basic="true"}' netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name=\"WinRM-HTTPS\" dir=in localport=5986 protocol=TCP action=allowwhich is a pain to have to do, sometimes it works but mainly it doesn’t. i did think it might be to do with port 2074 and I need to check if thats open but as it has worked sometimes I think it must be. The only joy I have is if I install NGT as part of a template and then follow the instructions. Enable NGT and mount the

Hello Community.New to the Nutanix world here. Busy setting up a multi-cloud 4 node environment for our clients. We were experiencing a number of issues and attempted upgrade to PC 2024.2; from PC 2024.1.0.2. This has introduced a number of further issues, and I am suspecting underlying compatibility issues in the environment with the new release.Any guidelines or assistance from the community as to getting the platform stable and running optimally again. I am hearing and seeing that a fairly strict upgrade process should be followed to avoid such problems, any input here would also be greatly appreciated.Look forward to hearing from you guys, and thanks.Mark
I start the boot and stop with this error and it freezes
I have some new Dell XC660 nodes that are on the HCL. Trying to image using foundation VM with 6.10 and AHV lcm_ahv_el8.nutanix.202303020102001.tar.gz which is on the whitelist. The CVM is deployed succesfully but when it comes to the Hypervisor Imaging stage I am getting an error in the genisoimage stage with No such file or directory. Invalid node - ‘/tmp/tmp8rrjdqh3/repo’. How can I get this working please?
Hi,we have a Nutanix 2-Node ROBO cluster and we need to replace one of the two nodes. Reading from documentation seams not feasable as operation. Do you have any ideas? RegardsAndrea Meneghinello
Hi, I’m trying to install CE, on an old IBM server, for testing and to try out the hypervisor, but I get met by an error when I try and install via the ISO I encounter this error, any idea what I’m doing wrong? I have a another IBM machine, where it install with no issues and as far as I can tell there should be no config difference between them.
Since we can now download NGT through here: https://portal.nutanix.com/page/downloads?product=ngtI was curious if it was possible to have a script automatically download the updated file every time it releases. I know we can do API in the Nutanix environment but wasn't sure about the portal. Or if anyone knows an alternative approach, please let me know.

Hi there, I am trying to install the CE version for testing in my home lab with a MSI cubi 5, I am using an NVMe drive and a SATA SSD for DATA and CVM respectively, and I thought I could use a USB stick for the AHV, however, I get a timeout whenever I try to run the installation even though I increased the timeout in the installer_vm.py, any suggestions? Thanks!
Right after I accpet the EULA the screen is terminating with this error “QEMU limits the disk serial length to 36, Serial is found duplicate after truncation XY”. Now I can’t find anything on the web related to this problem, so I’m going to ask it. What does this error mean and how could solve it? I’m using the CE version 2.1
Unable to expand cluster from prism UI, host and CVM IPs are reachable on the target node. Pls suggest ways to expand the cluster.

Hi all,We are migrating from ESXi to AHV.I am looking for a way to add another vlan to the AHV hypervisor that will allow our third party backup solution in the same vlan to backup virtual machines using AHV snapshots. On ESXi we created an extra VMKernel interface with the BackupNFC server enabled for the same purpose and that works fine. The reason for the extra vlan is that we do not want to transfer backups through the firewall. Our hypervisors and backup nodes are each in their own firewall separated vlans.

Could we deploy a nutanix robo cluster using 3-nodes ? How it would be licensed ?
We have bought 4 units Lenovo Think Agile HX630 V3 ROBO Integrated System (IS) with SW-NCI-STR-PR license. Which one is the best practice deployment scheme :Opsi 1 : applied those license into one cluster consists 4-nodesOpsi 2 : applied those license into 3-nodes cluster and a single node clusterOpsi 3 : applied those license into two clusters which consists 2-nodes per cluster
