In certain scenarios, after upgrading to LCM 2.2.9225 by performing inventory, the inventory objects, software/firmware updates are not displayed in the LCM page on PE (Prism Element) when logged in as an AD user. This issue is generally observed if the AD Domain does not have a service account associated with it in Prism. Service account configuration in Prism was not mandatory in AOS versions older than 5.5. If authentication with the AD Domain was configured when the cluster was running the older versions, you are likely to hit this problem. You can identify the issue either from the Prism UI or from the ncli, for the UI identification: log in to Prism > Settings (gear icon) > Authentication > Check if a service account is configured. For the ncli identification and the solution check out: https://portal.nutanix.com/kb/7598 This is fixed in AOS 5.11, 5.10.6 or later.
Hello, I’m trying to configure two AHV clusters (3 nodes) for replication. Both environments are running AOS 5.11.2 on HPE DX360 Gen10. The network environment is spread between two stacks: one stack dedicated to the storage with 10Gb interfaces and one stack for the LAN with 1Gb interfaces. There is no connection between these two networks. After the deployment of the nodes and the configuration of the clusters, I start to configure the Backplane Network with the following parameter: Subnet: 172.16.250.0 Netmask: 255.255.255.0 VLAN: 202 Host node: br1 The backplane network of the first cluster works without any problem. When I do the same (with the same) for the second cluster, it fails. It says that the IPs addresses are already in use. I would like to specify a VLAN/subnet where both clusters have their backplane IPs so I can use the backplane network for the replication between both clusters. I hope this is clear. I have a cluster running on an NX-3060-G5 with XenServer hypervisor that I want to completely rebuild on Acropolis. I’m looking for documentation on how to do this. Our original cluster was built by a Nutanix engineer onsite and I recall he had to install the foundation software on another machine, but I don’t recall all of the steps he took. Can someone point me in the right direction?
I compile my code, now the user should not install anything .. just run and choose graphically where you want to record the report and the information looks much more orderly and complete. It is an extensive summary. 1) You just need to unzip the .zip and run the executable named NUTANIX_TOOLS_FOR_AHV_v1.7.9_PORTABLE.exe 2) A window opens where you must select where to save the report. 3) Once selected the software generates the report in the indicated place. Let’s say that you want to dive deeper into the performance of your AHV cluster to understand if the resource allocation has been done correctly and to check how many CPUs, Cores per CPU and Threads reside on each host. To see the CPU components, SSH to a CVM in your cluster and run ”hostssh lscpu”: The result above is an output example of one node, for this host there are: Sockets = 2 Cores per socket = 6 (2x6 = 12 in total) Threads per core = 2 (2x12 = 24 in total) CPUs = 24 (threads in total) If you wish to see more information for each of the 24 CPUs on this host you can run "cat /proc/cpuinfo" on a host shell (not through the CVM). To jump from the CVM to it’s host, run “ssh root@192.168.5.1” and run the command above.

The short answer for both questions is, it depends. What is Phoenix? Phoenix is an ISO-based installer that you can use to perform installation tasks on bare-metal hardware one node at a time. Tasks that performed by Phoenix: Configuring Hypervisor settings, virtual switches and more (no need for AOS in this case) Installing the Controller VM which runs the AOS. I'm will be configuring Network Segmentation on my Nutanix Cluster as per these instructions. https://portal.nutanix.com/#/page/docs/details?targetId=Web-Console-Guide-Prism-v510:wc-network-segment-on-existing-cluster-wc-t.html The VLAN that I put my backplane traffic on, does it matter or not if I have a Gateway for that VLAN? I would use 172.16.10.0 as the Subnet IP and 255.255.255.0 as the Netmask. I am planning on having a Gateway of 172.16.10.1 on the firewall. Currently, the default configuration without network segmentation, the management and backplane traffic on eth0 has a gateway so as far as I can tell, everything should still work if I have a gateway for backplane traffic. Could someone please confirm that it doesn’t matter if I have a gateway on the backplane VLAN or not?

We are thinking of adding two compute only nodes to our cluster for Oracle. What are the hardware requirements for running CO nodes? Does the cluster the CO’s are joined to have to be all flash or do you have to “pin” the VM’s running on the CO to All Flash in the HC storage. We currently have 4 HC nodes running a mix of SSD and HDD.

Hi, I am having a Hyper-V cluster managed by a SCVMM with Kerberos enabled. I already did: Join the cluster and hosts to domain Create the MSFC and join to domain Add hosts and Nutanix container share to SCVMM Enable Kerberos and configure Delegation But, from each host, I currently cannot: Access to Nutanix container via SMB path (\\VIP\container). When I type the SMB path into file explorer, it requires me to login. I tried to use the AD account used to enable Kerberos on Prism as well as AD admin account but could not make it Create the VM (I could create the VM by using SCVMM instead). “Failed to create the virtual hard disk” error window appears every time I try to create Is this the normal behavior of the whole system? Is it necessary to have 2 vlans when deploying nutanix or can I deploy nutanix with one vlan?
Dear Sir/ Madam, I am working on a further Nutanix project and I have installed 8 x NX8155 servers. Each server has 6 x 10g TwinX cables and 2 x CAT6 copper connections. I am again trying to find any suitable cable manager due to the amount of physical cabling for each device. Can someone please advise if there are any cable managers that Nutanix is aware of or via a third party as I am struggling to locate any. Thanks in advance. Simon.
