How will a Redundancy Factor 2 All-Flash cluster with 4 nodes and all of running VMs get impacted when 3 disks get failure on the different nodes at the same time. Are those running VMs on the cluster still running and available to access when this happens? Will all of VMs be unavailable until failure disks get replaced? Will this impact to those VMs which VM data reside on the failure disks? or something else?

Hi TeamI am trying to deploy a VM in my Nutanix cluster. I am invoking this API https://{PRISM_CENTRAL_IP}:9440/api/nutanix/v3/vms from my powershell script with the desired body. I am using a vmdk image for creating VM and my requirement is that once the VM will turned on it should start my application. In order to start the application I need some user provided custom data. While creating the VM I am passing custom data as part of guest_customization section of the payload. I want to access this information inside the VM while start up.Please let me know how I can read the user provided custom data inside the VM. If I am passing the custom data in a wrong place, then let me know how to pass the custom data while creating VM.I am curious to know if any solution is provided by Nutanix similar to AWS/GCP where we were invoking a specific endpoint (ex GCP - http://169.254.169.254/computeMetadata/v1/instance/attributes/user-data) to get the metadata.Attaching the whole payload for referen
I am using Foundations for Windows, cabled directly into switch, deploying to new Dell R630s bare metal, same subnet. I go through the wizard fine, IPMI credentials are verified, iDRAC works fine, IMPI over LAN enabled. The install fails with the above Exception. I can post more logs if desired.I have:- turned off Windows Firewall- updated host firmware- ran the Foundations program as an Administrator in Windows- verified physical connectivityThe complete error message is:Exception: Imaging <bmc_utils._remote_boot_idrac.RemoteBootIdrac8 object at 0x000001C3A99CDFA0> requires USERSPACE_NFS feature, try run foundation with root/administrator.Google did not turn up anything with this. Any suggestions?
Hi Nutanix Peeps, I am new in HCI technology and would like to seek your insights on how to configure native VLAN in the Nutanix Environment. The plan was to remove the default VLAN (Data Traffic) to all Cisco access switches therefore removing it will also require to configure new native VLAN in the trunk link between the switches and Nutanix Hosts. Any help would be pretty much appreciated. Thank you so much!
Hello, I am getting the error while performing migration error is “Writer is unavailable for the file 30fd72e8-3699-4b77a153-68524cf97cbb”
The system ran the installation but when the reboot started to finish setup it required a username and password but nothing seems to be working. Any help to resolve this would be helpful.

Hi TeamI am trying to automate the VM creation through Powershell Cmdlets. I can see there are two different version of Powershell Cmdlets are present https://portal.nutanix.com/page/documents/details?targetId=PS-Cmdlets-AOS-v6_6:ps-ps-cmdlets-c.htmlFrom the document, I observed that Powershell 2.0.1 supports execution of these cmdlets from Ubuntu and Mac along with Windows which is not the case in first version. The first version is only works from a Windows machine. But there is a significant difference between the Powershell Cmdlets present in V1 and V2.Can you please let me know do we have any limitation wrt Cmdlets if we use V2 or we can do all the operations that can be done by V1? If V2 have certain limitation then do we need to use the SDK or API in order to automate the task? Thanks

Hi,Title was of course 2402/2430, not 2404/2430 🙃Having an issue in my home lab… The issue at handI had Nutanix CE2 running on this machine for more than a month. However, due to odd crashes and false positives with disconnect issues on the vs0 configuration (I guess), I figured I would attempt a complete reinstall, having used DP to backup all VMs to another Nutanix CE2 setup. I believe I made a configuration error at some point. However, re-installing with all the exact same devices and settings, I’m faced with this:InstallerVM timeout occurred, current retry 0Please take a look at installer_vm_*.log inside foundation logs to debug hypervisor installation issuesAfter which it will restart the process.I’ve found somewhere near 2 other examples of this, stopping at the same progress [2402/2430], but I can’t figure out the solution.Maybe someone can tell me how to actually find that installer_vm_*.log, as I couldn’t find it anywhere. Hello everyone,I am currently experiencing an issue while installing a Nutanix cluster on two Lenovo ThinkAgile HX630 V3 CN nodes, with a witness virtual machine. Below are the detailed system versions and the error messages encountered.AOS and AHV Versions: AOS: 192-168-75-10: 6.8 J901TNBT (ThinkAgile HX630 V3 CN): 6.5.3 J901TNBV (ThinkAgile HX630 V3 CN): 6.5.3 AHV: 192-168-75-10: ? J901TNBT (ThinkAgile HX630 V3 CN): AHV el7.nutanix.20220304.385 J901TNBV (ThinkAgile HX630 V3 CN): AHV el7.nutanix.20220304.385 The installation fails at the "ImagingStepProvisionNetwork" step with an error message indicating a "Timeout (240s) in waiting for events ['provision_remote']". This seems to cause a cascade of failures in subsequent installation steps, preventing the process from completing.I have verified the current IP addresses and potential conflicts via arp-scan, but this has not resolved the issue.Has anyone encountered this type of issue or have any suggestions on how to resolve it ?
We are currently operating a Nutanix cluster with Cisco UCSC C240 M7 nodes. We are considering expanding this cluster by adding two Cisco B200 M5 servers as compute-only nodes. Before proceeding, we would like to confirm the following:1. Is it possible to install AHV on Cisco B200 M5 servers and integrate them as compute-only nodes into our existing Nutanix cluster?2. Are there any specific configurations or firmware requirements for the B200 M5 servers to ensure compatibility with Nutanix AHV?3. Can you provide any documentation or guidance on the best practices for this type of integration?Thank you

Hi - We have a requirement to install CE on an HPE DX380a Gen11 server. We have downloaded the phoenix-ce2.0-fraser-6.5.2-stable-fnd-5.3.4-x86_64 iso and connected this the the virtual CD drive on the HP server and done a one time boot from CD.The CE installer starts to run but then always errors at the following screen:- We have tried disabling max power mode changing to OS Control and downloaded the ISO a couple of times also. The server has 4 drives which looks to be a CE limit so hopefully we are ok with that. This is the first time we have tried to install CE but now not sure what else to try to get this installedAny help gratefully receivedThanksGuy Bannister
