Hi, I am new here and this is my firts experience with Nutanix. I need to deploy 3 nodes, and I’ m going to use the native Hypervisor from Nutanix (AHV). I saw a video explainning that, to do it, it’s necessary to download and use the Foundation Tools to configure the cluster and than, gathering access to PRISM. Unfortunally, I can’t download Foundation, due to the Nutanix blocks were registered by our customer (message: ...The email XXXXXXX is not authorized for the account associated with the serial number YYYYYYY) and we don’t know who did it. We are trying to identify who registered the blocks but, meanwhile, Is there another way to deploy it without the Foundation tool, or is there a way to unregister the blocks and register again but to different user account? Thanks in advance,
Hello all, Hope you’re all doing great. Kindly if you can guide me where to start with Nutanix as I don’t know anything and willing to know everything related .. so I am a VMware guy who is willing to understand the NU platform and I hope I am writing the right post in the right place Thanks in Advance, Cheers.

I completed an AOS upgrade from 5.5.2.2 to 5.10.8 on two different clusters. On one cluster I have the health page showing a warning symbol (no data) and the message: “An error has occurred. Show me why” When I role over “Show me why” I see the message “java.lang.NullPointerException”. I have a ticket open with Nutanix but haven’t received any solutions that have worked yet. Appreciate help if someone knows how to resolve.
When i try to connect to IPMI by clicking on the link in Prism Central i get an error stating the site can not be reached because it timed out. It seems to be related to the firewall maybe. Any information where to start? thank you
Hi, We have a NX-3060-G4 with 3 VMware hosts on that is currently connected to our Cisco core switch cluster using 10GB twinax cables. A long story short, I need to remove these and connect the NTX to a single 1GB Cisco switch (WS-C3850-12S-S). My question is: can I connect a 1GB SFP link between the NTX and new core switch using the 10GB NTX ethernet port? If so, will the NTX detect that the cable connected can only run at 1GB? Thanks in advance.
In some scenarios, we might have a need to find the disks associated with a virtual machine hosted on a Nutanix AHV Cluster. Nutanix offers a distributed storage fabric, which forms a large storage pool across “N” number of nodes. we then create containers for different types of workloads or we can easily use a single container as well.Virtual Machines are created via Prism Management and all vDisks associated with the VMs are hosted on the distributed storage pool. On a Nutanix AOS Cluster, Acropolis service runs across the cluster to manage virtual machine operations and configurations. As both Data & MetaData is distributed across the cluster, we can use the “Acropolis” service on almost any CVM to retrieve virtual machine information running on any node.In order to interact with the Acropolis service, Nutanix offers “acli”. a powerful set of commands for virtual machine operations across your Nutanix cluster.acli offers tab-completion once inside the acli shell or we can execu

Hi, i want to share NIACtool v2.5 Beta. It can be run on windows operating systems, it is possible to obtain a complete infrastructure report detailing the virtual machines created. Supports ESXi and AHV hypervisors. The result is a fully modifiable Excel document. https://github.com/dlira2

Hi All, Is it possible for a Witness VM to monitor multiple two nodes clusters? I can’t find any answer on this question. Thanks in advance.
Nutanix AOS supports multiple hypervisors and supports a variety of hardware components. Nutanix qualifies hardware components to ensure optimal performance and minimal disruption. Nutanix AOS with ESXi supports Intel’s 10Gb (ixgbe) Ethernet Network Adapters. It is important to ensure that all network related components are working optimally to ensure reliable cluster operations. If you are running Nutanix AOS with ESXi 5.5 or 6.x and have the following Intel Network Cards installed in your host systems: Intel Ethernet Controllers 82599 and x540 You might receive an NCC alert, pointing to an upgrade required for ixgbe nics or an older firmware detected. This is to ensure optimal networking performance amongst the hosts and to avoid any errors due to NIC driver issues. You can upgrade the firmware for the above Intel NICs (ixgbe) with the following Nutanix KB: Updating the ixgbe Driver Version to the 4.5.1 Release The above KB outlines all the pre and post steps required for a smooth
Many customers buy #hci technology from the usual suspects (#nutanix, #vmware, #dell, etc.) without any consideration to what happens when things break. Support becomes REALLY important when your systems are not operating as expected. Thankfully, they don't have to worry if they bought Nutanix. Hear what #nutanix customers say about our award winning #nps90 #support.

I have AHV cluster at both DC & DR, which has number of VMs being protected with Protection Domain feature. These VMs are being replicated from DC to DR in scheduled manner. Now as a part of DR drill, I need to run these production VMs from DR for period of time and then again make it functional from DC once drill is over. I am concerned over how the delta changes made during drill with VMs at DR will be again replicated back to DC as Protection Domain replication is uni directional (DC to DR) ? Any recommendations ?
Hello, I'm trying to create a File Server. I did this in Prism Element cluster. I have a problem when I had to select the Client Network PortGroup All my dvportgroup are not visible. I can only see the dvportgroup attached to a dvswitch with uplinks assigned. In my vCenter we have a dvswitch with no uplinks assigned. This dvswitch is used by my network sdn solution which transport the client network. Do you see a solution ? thanks
Stuck with this error. Please help out.
I am trying to make changes to the "extra_flags" option on a VM. I have 2 issues. Is there a way to remove and "extra_flag" added to a VM? Also is there a way to specify the CPU model. I see there is a way to do it in KVM, but not sure how it works in Nutanix. I am trying to do nested virtualization, but for some reason nested VMs don't boot due to the xsave/xsaveopt feature it seems. The host is quad SandyBridge CPUs, but it worked when I specified the CPU model as Westmere. Anyone else have this issue or have an idea of how to specify the features passed through?
Hello, I have a personal Lenovo Thinkserver, which has a 4 Seagate 2T Disk (3 of them are formed Raid 5) and 3 SSD (256G+128G*2). I don't want to lost my personal data. Is that possible to install the Community Edition on the specified Disk 256G SSD + 1 Seagate 2T HD for testing purpose?
Good morning - I reviewed a thread on the same topic from 2 years ago. I'm looking to see if TPM on the NX series (with AHV) is now supported. I'm seeing something in the support portal about installing the module on G6 nodes. Can someone confirm this? Thanks!
