Custom sizer hardware configurations supported?

Hello team,

We used Nutanix sizer to configure a 3 node cluster, if hybrid mode is selected the smaller suggested option for cold data is a 4 X 2Tb SAS disks set when we choose 2 x 960Gb SSD for hot data.

Is it possible to get support and buy a license if we configure the node with 2 x 2Tb disks? It's a small environment and we don't need all that extra space.

Every hardware component is in the supported compatibility matrix of the vendor, just not sure Nutanix can fully support a custom configuration

Hi newlinksolutions

Sizer makes recommendations on cluster configurations, but lots of other configurations are possible and we’d be happy to discuss something more tailored to your needs. Do you know how to contact your Nutanix account team? They will be best point of contact to answer your questions specific to your set up.

Let me know if you need help in reaching out to them.

Thanks

Shveta Dave

Hello Shveta,

thank you, very appreciated!

We’re configuring HPE DL325 servers to be precise, unfortunately the lastet Proliant HCL (8th of July update) does not even mention the AMD platform.

I tried the validator tool but storage size is not checked and I guess that the Nutanix storage calculator tool is a bit too generic (960x2 + 2TBx2 is documented so, at least from a theoretical point of view, possible with every hardware platform)

Regards

Not sure if you're referring to a local unit in my country, but we already discussed the setup and they told me that if sizer does not allow that manual change in disks number than is not a supported configuration
