Hi All,I am new to Nutanix Environment. I have been tasked to troubleshoot a customer Nutanix environment. In the Nutanix cluster storage utilization is at a critical stage, and Customer VMs are behaving strangely.  VMs are gradually becoming unresponsive and we are greeted with 2048 screen stating VM boot disk are not found although the cluster storage shows 2 TiB available (I know its extremely low, things might not work). The most important part is we have already deleted almost around 15TiB of storage but we are not seeing an increment in the available storage resource. (its stuck at 2TiB). The customer environment is out of support subscription, and they are not able to renew due to their internal financial issue. Cluster version: 5.10.5 LTS Pro LicenseStorage: 2TiB free of 55TiBNumber of Nodes:  4RF=2Data Resiliency Status: Critical I will be very grateful for any help and suggestions. Thank You

Hi,Nutanix friends,I’m considering to choice many disks hardware using NCI Edge license.In actually I need 800TB effective capacity.However in my recognation,using NCI Edge licence is not over 5nodes each cluster.Which hardware shoud I choice?Perhaps,NX-8055-G9 is the most disks installed,180TB hdd per node.

Hello Colleagues,. I am trying to create golden image with customized parationing in alma linux with packer. how can i acheive that can somebody suggest please. I have  tried to customized the iso file during installation , it worked but when i extracting this as a ova or qcow2 image it is not working. Regards,Jatinder kumar

Hi everyone, I have an NX-3460-G6 that was turned off yesterday by accidentally unplugging the power cables. I tried to turn it back on, but the power supplies (PSU) have green LEDs flashing (the other LED is off). Now from the documentation I see that it could be one of two causes: 1) "When AC is present only: 12VSB on (PS off) of PS in sleep state (the LED should flash at i Hz). 2) Power supply firmware updating mode (the LED should flash at 2 Hz).

Hi all,I’ve enabled AD authentication on Prism element and Prism Central. All is working, but I saw a little artefact.When I connect with my AD user, the name written in the right top of the screen is the concatenation of two AD fields : Display Name and Last Name. So, It shows my first name and twice my last name (display name field is already the conactenation of first name and last names fields).Is this the same thing for you ? I didn’t see any settings option for AD fields mapping (as for OpenLDAP)thanks !

Hi Team,           I need clarifications on  the below two points. If there is a requirement to create storage container capacity usable space as 1TB, which means is to  create 2TB as the advertised capacity in Rf2 based container? If I create 100GB disk in RF2 container, the unique data  is only 50 GB ? What are the on-prem requirements to build NC2 on azure ?

Hey everyone, I have an ova which is designed for VMWare. The OVA is 2.7 GB in size and is Oracle Linux 9.3.When trying to deploy the OVA in Nutanix PC, it fails and doesn’t work. I’ve been researching and it seems that the vmdks inside the OVA need to be injected with the Virtio drivers that are compatible with AHV.  I want to mention that I have used Nutanix Move to migrate a Virtual Machine from VMWare to Nutanix. The problem is that I need to redistribute these images and Nutanix Move creates images that are 120GB combined (which is the disk sizes but not the vmdk sizes, obviously).  Any help will be much appreciated.

I’m currently backing up to AWS with AWS set up as Async DR site.  However, the price that AWS is charging has dramatically gone up.  Are there any alternatives to AWS?  I don’t need to run any VMs on the remote site, just a remote site to store my snap shots and the ability to restore easily. Thanks!

Hello,on a new Project we need to import a large VMDK - around 14T of data. Is there a way to import the vmdk directly without usage of the image service.My expaction was to add the Media which contianed the VMDK to a seperate Host and import using a CLI - is this possible? Best regards

Is this a possible option? I currently have a single node (MS-01) running nutanix CE and would like to add storage to expand Files.  Is it possible to bring in additional hardware in nutanix CE for a storage only node?

Does anyone know why a host would fail to bring up network interfaces after a host reboot?  I have to go in and manually bring them up using IFconfig then everything is fine.

Hi all,I received the following error when I tried to create a protection policy with sync replication for one vm from two clusters managed from the same PC, “Failed to apply protection policy 'PP_sync' on the VM 'CentOS7-DEV' because 'Magneto is in recovery mode after PC DR'”. Some time ago I restored the PC but I didn't find any error before now, also NCC didn't report any issue.Regards

Hello,I am desperate, I have 2 disks and the USB stick with the ISo on my server.If I now want to install Nutranix, I get to the disk selection, but even if I assign the disks to the respective letters, only Phoenix ISO is still mounted at the endThen the install aborts and I can go back to the disk selection.If I enter H,C, or D, the system says either I need SSD's, or I must have 2 disks, which I have.Do I need ESXI on the server, not really if I use the AHV version?

Ok, let’s get straight into the topic. On one of our VMs, we had 3 local disks and 5 NICs and we intended to remove 4 of the 5 NICs, which are no longer necessary. Instead of deleting the NIC in the last row, a disk in the last row has been deleted and no, a snapshot of the VM has unfortunately not been created. Is there any possibility to recover the deleted VM disk from this specific VM with AHV/CVM command line? Thanks in advance for any help! Regards,Didi7

I’m fairly new to AHV and Prism.  We’ve been running Nutanix for a few years but our hosts are running ESXi.  We’re setting up a new cluster with AHV and we’re planning to migrate everything there.  One issue we have is that some hosts have the NVIDIA GPU card in them.  In Vmware, I have affinity rules so that the VMs that use the GPU will only run on the hosts that have the GPU card.  Can I do the same thing with AHV?  Going through KB articles, I get mixed messages. One KB article flat out says that it’s not supported.

Hiya - I’m just wondering how do I go about (who do I ask :)) getting HPE hardware in the Nutanix sizer ? By default the sizer only has NX hardware and it’s my understanding that adding additional nodes (from the likes of HPE/Dell) can be enabled  Thank you muchly :)

Hi, I was wondering if it is possible to amend the subnet associated to the NIC of multiple VMs via Powershell or API. Reading the documentation on PowerShell it appears this is maybe not possible without deleting the NIC and adding it. When attempting this via the API I am getting incorret uuid errors even though they are copied straight from the NIC.Many thanks,R
