I have an old cluster of 4 NX-8035 nodes running AHV used for testing purposes. The LCM update is failing with sata_dom_wearout_check. Is there anyway to skip that check when running LCM updates? This is old hardware and I wont be replacing any parts, just want to get updates to run.
Hi AllCurrently a new version has been released for prism that is pc.2022.9 . In which, it has been mentioned that Microservice infrastructure would be enabled by default and it is mandatory as well for this version .Can anyone confirm that enable of microservice infrastructure requires separate license as in my current infra i dnt have Microservice infrastructure enabled and i dnt require it also .[I am using ESXi as a hypervisor] .Also, is there any way old version of Prism[PC.2022.6.0.1] can be update to this pc.2022.9 version without having Microservice infrastructure enabled ?

Hi All,Let’s say, in a Nutanix cluster with 3 nodes/hosts, when creating a new virtual machine(vm), in which node/host, a newly created VM will go, how it chooses the node to be there?Scenerio 1 : Assume in all the 3 nodes/host, there are required compute and storage resources are there.Scenerio 2 : Assume only two nodes/hosts has the required compute and storage resources are there?
What is the maximum and the minimum time range that we can establish in an analysis chart?The question surges because we need the analytical info about some VMs but we can´t retrieve more than 3 months and we need about 18 months.
Hi Guys,Can anyone confirm that it is possible to unlicense one or two NX clusters that are in production in order to re-allocate the same licenses but smarter?Explanation: We have 2 clusters with 3 AOS Pro licenses sets (Cores + FLASH)Set1: first 3 nodes of cluster1 (2019, renewed 2022)Set2: first 3 nodes of cluster2 (2021, renewed 2024)Set3: 2 more nodes, one for each cluster (2022)We should then have set1 allocated for cluster1, set2 for cluster2 and set3 split between the 2 clusters but currently each set is used partially in cluster1 and 2 which is a mess for next licenses renewal…So my target would be to reclaim all the licenses for both clusters and then reallocate them, cleaner, through seamless licencing. Is that scenario possible without stopping the exploitation? Thanks for your advice and guidance.
We have 2 Cluster - Primary cluster we are sending backup cluster for certain VM. If We restore snapshot on same cluster - > guest os can easly assign drive letter But whichever is near by snapshot which available at Backup Cluster if try to restore on Backup clusterDrive letter are not getting assign, which impacting DB Services as DB lying in unassigned drives
I’m fairly new to AHV and Prism. We’ve been running Nutanix for a few years but our hosts are running ESXi. We’re setting up a new cluster with AHV and we’re planning to migrate everything there. One issue we have is that some hosts have the NVIDIA GPU card in them. In Vmware, I have affinity rules so that the VMs that use the GPU will only run on the hosts that have the GPU card. Can I do the same thing with AHV? Going through KB articles, I get mixed messages. One KB article flat out says that it’s not supported.
I am attempting to automate the data-at-rest encryption setup on our clusters and I am struggling with the certificate upload api. Does anyone have examples of using this api or could help me figure out how to make it work? Is the the contents of the certs, a file, or something else?

if We have 400 virtual machines and we dont know that who use that virtual machines and we want to know IDLE SERVERS, means the servers no one use.
We have a subset of VMs that a group of users needs readonly and console access. This is not difficult with RBAC using categories. However, when we clone these systems for testing or new deployment, the assigned categories don’t get inherited from the source VM. Since we do this often, this is a management headache.Is this standard behavior? If so, any ideas on how to do this easily? I was hoping projects might be helpful, but I can’t find much useful documentation or examples to guide me.
Hello Everyone,We have a cluster that failed. It’s running on an old NX-G5 box, and has been out of support for a while now. When trying to start the cluster, we’ll get varying messages. Sometimes it’ll say the cluster hasn’t finished being configured. Other times it’ll be about genesis or zookeeper. Genesis is currently running on all the CVMs, zookeeper is only running on one of them. I’m able to ping everything from everywhere, and all of the zookeeper and network config files look correct. Any ideas on what to check from here would be greatly appreciated.Another thought was that if we couldn’t get the cluster up and running, is it possible to somehow recover the VM disks and import them into another AHV cluster? Does anyone have any experience with this?

I’m currently backing up to AWS with AWS set up as Async DR site. However, the price that AWS is charging has dramatically gone up. Are there any alternatives to AWS? I don’t need to run any VMs on the remote site, just a remote site to store my snap shots and the ability to restore easily. Thanks!
We have a 3-node AHV Nutanix cluster and the cluster wide disk usage reflects the size of the disks provisioned for all the guest VMs. The sum of the disk usage of the VMs do not exceed 3 TB but cluster usage detects 11 TB witch matches the total provisioned disks for the VMs + a few snapshots there. My understanding is the cluster should report a total disk usage of 3 TB + the snapshots, What am I missing here? Thanks in advance for your responses.

I want to build a blueprint that provisions a CentOS8 VM. I have added a CentOS8 disk to the Catalog Items list in Prism Central. When I go to build/edit my blueprints in Calm/Self Service, the disk does not show up as an option in the Disks configuration field. How do i enable a disk image from the Catalog Items to be available in Calm blueprints?Thanks!
PRISM is installed as appliance however, the is OS layer within it. Do we need to introduce any security software for OS layer or Nutanix itself has any security functions?During the audit they were pointed out by auditor if it is okay to do nothing for PRISM appliance in terms of security.

Hi everyone, We’re using v3/vms/list endpoint to get the information for the VMs. We’re getting last_update_time in the response. Truncated response for a VM:"metadata": { "last_update_time": "2023-06-08T10:49:22Z", "kind": "vm", "uuid": "cff450d3-dd1f-4d7d-9651-9b38164cb7e5", "creation_time": "2023-06-08T10:49:01Z"}I was expecting that if we change any properties of the VM like RAM, Disk Space, etc then last_update_time should get updated. However, irrespective of the value that we change, the last_update_time doesn’t get updated. Additionally, there is no time field which we can use to track the VM updation. Is this an expected behavior? Please let me know if I am missing something.
