Can Unplanned Failover Be Executed Without a Witness in Prism Central-Based DR Setup?

Hello Community,

I'm exploring options for executing an Unplanned Failover in a Prism Central-based Disaster Recovery setup and would appreciate some insights. Our environment consists of two sites, each configured with its own Prism Central instance in an AZ-to-AZ architecture.

Is it possible to successfully perform an Unplanned Failover without a Witness in this setup? If anyone has experience or best practices to share for handling failovers under these conditions, I’d be grateful for your advice!

Thanks in advance!

Of course you can, but you need to do it manually. Create a recovery plan and set it to manually.

Hi Jeroen,

So, just to confirm my understanding: in a disaster event, the Recovery Site won’t automatically promote itself to the primary, and we would need to manually initiate the failover process. Is that correct?
