Is there a way to unack and unresolve alarms that have been marked wrongly or needs to be passed between shifts and operators?

We all have a safe number in our head when it comes to storage utilization rate. Depending on professional background the answer will vary between 75%-85%. Sure, would that be of total space? Total space per node? Let’s take a look.This example assumes a five-node cluster consisting of the following. We had an issue last evening where one of our nodes decided to take a dive. (Uncorrectable memory in one of the DIMMs).Anyways, I happened to check my email this morning and was like wonderful. So I hopped on to check things out. Turns out the node is indeed unable to boot. So, opened a case. A speedy response - yay!However, I am wondering what type of alerts that are automatically sent to nos-alerts trigger a support case? One would think that a node down and the cluster in HA state would trigger a support case… so I checked the postfix logs and see that an email was sent when everything occurred last evening… which leads me to ask, “What exactly will trigger an alert on the support end if this particular issue didn’t?”Thanks for any insight. You have multiple storage containers in your AHV Nutanix cluster(Nutanix recommends having a single container to simplify operations) and have a need to move a User VM from one storage container to another but confused regarding the process.Let us guide you by giving a brief summary of the operation you need to perform.If you’re using AOS 5.5.X and 5.6.X and cluster is managed by Prism Central consider upgrading or following the steps mentioned in  KB 3577 to download VM disk file from source container to workstation and then upload to the destination container.For other AOS version, the following steps would help. Find the VM disk files using the following command from any CVMnutanix@cvm:~$ acli vm.get <VM name> include_vmdisk_paths=1 | grep -E 'disk_list|vmdisk_nfs_path|vmdisk_size|vmdisk_uuid' This will give us the VMdisk UUD and container path. How do clean old Prism Alerts.  Within Webconsole Resolve and Acknowlege doesnt clean old alerts.  Any command would helpful.  Thanks,   

I want to pull alerts from my cluster using ncli. however, the alert message gets truncated. here is an example: code:ncli> alerts ls max-alerts=1 ID : XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Message : Unable to locate VM(s) VM1, VM2, VM3, VM4, VM5, VM6, VM7, VM8, VM9, VM10, VM11, VM12, VM13, VM15, V... protected by protection domain 'PDgroup2'. Notice the truncated portion with '...'. Is there a switch i can send with ncli to prevent that truncation?

I have installed Prism Cental 4.6.0.1 and Acropolis 4.6.0.1. Now I tried to register my Nutanix Cluster to Prism Central. I entered the admin credentials in the registration form. But I got an error "Failed to register to Prism Central: HTTP 403 forbidden". Any hints? best regards, arno

Hello, we have only recently implemented Nutanix in our environment so apologies if this is a noob question. My issue is this: I have a 2012 Server VM that I need to repair using the CMD prompt. I am adding a CDROM with the Server 2012 ISO mounted and set to boot. After Windows setup loads I open CMD prompt but the disk where the OS is installed can't be found. Its as if only the ISO is being seen and no other drives. What am I doing wrong?

Let's navigate to the alerts tab in Prism. Here's an example of the alert. In order to resolve this alert, the CVM is not synchronizing time with any external servers, we'll first need to add an NTP server to your cluster. Let's navigate to settings, then NTP servers. Input your server and click add. We can also add NTP servers through CLI by running the following: NCLI, cluster, add to NTP servers, servers equals, and then server name. Now let's resolve the alert. Okay. Next, we'll verify the NTP server has been added. Once these steps have been completed, we can run an NCC to verify the alert has been resolved. In Prism, you might see an alert, disk space usage high. This alert is generated when a disk. Usage on your controller VM reaches 95% in order to verify, first we need to check the disk usage across the cluster. You can do this by running the following, all SSH DF-H. Here's an example of one of your CVMs. We can see here that the home directory is above 95%. We can remove any unnecessary files by following KB 1540. You can find a link to that in the description below. I've deleted some larger files to clear up some space. Once that's done, you can verify the space has been cleared by rerunning DF-H on the effected CVM or run the specific NCC check, NCC health checks, hardware checks, disk checks, disk usage check. Th

I did a trial of Flow about a year ago. We decided to not implement Flow. Since then obviously the licenses have expired, but the expiry banner remains even though we don't plan on using it. How do I remove that license/suppress the banner?

Hello, We want to manage multi-tennancy using Nutanix. We have different clients and we want to give visibility them only to manage their VMs. When a client access to prism console, he only will be able to check his VMs and resources, create new machine on his side...not resources and VMs from the B client for example. Is this possible using the last version (5.10.2)? We have seen on last version Nutanix has launched Self Service Portal? Could it be helpful to achieve this requirement? Thanks in advance. Regards,

Hello, My AHV cluster is attached to PC I have created VM and I need to convert this VM to template but the acli command clone_from_vmdisk falls with error not allowed when PE is registered with PC I have cloned VM with PC but I don't know how to convert to image. Thanks for your support

Customer has large Nutanix environment across globe and would like to upgrade prism central to 5.10.2, but the download link is not available in the portal. The download link was there before a month and not now. Could you please share the link to download PC 5.10.2 (upgrade) and is there a reason why it has been removed from the portal.? Thanks.

Issue resolved, but alerts persisting with old time stamp. alerts ware generated during network maintenance, now all ok need to clear logs, need procedure to clear the old alerts.
