Has anyone been able to enable bitlocker on a drive within Server 2019 or 2022? Or is there an update regarding this article? Bitlocker cannot be enabled on Windows Server 2019 in VM running on AHV (nutanix.com)

In case anyone encounters this in the future, Microsoft released a fix for this issue on Nov 2021 (kb5007266).   In fact this is mentioned on the updated version of the document @EricUMD linked to.

In short, if you update your 2019 server and bring it up to date, you will be able to enable BitLocker.

Worked for me.

@EricUMD Nutanix and Microsoft teams conducted the joint investigation of the issue and the Microsoft engineering team has acknowledged that the issue is on Windows/BitLocker side. Microsoft is working on a fix and evaluating the possibility to backport this fix to currently supported OSes.
