VMware vCenter server upgrade

I am planning to upgrade my vcenter server appliance from 7.0 U1C to 7.0 U2b, as far as i know Nutanix only validate Esxi releases with respect to its AOS, can any one advise if i can upgrade the appliance?

Hi @DDebashis

Nutanix doesn’t qualify or test vCenter versions. We only qualify vSphere/ESX. Nutanix supports Prism for management. Customers is free to upgrade vCenter version and if they run into issues, they will need to speak to VMware.

I don’t work for Nutanix, but I think their reasoning is that if you’re running a vCenter that supports your ESXi hosts, and the hosts are running a version supported by AOS, then you’re good. I can tell you we upgraded from vCenter 6.7 to 7.0 recently, and we’ve been running 7.0 U2b for a few weeks now, and it’s been perfectly fine.
