Hi,

Is there any limitation on mixed hardware generation in one cluster Nutanix? Example old generation like G5 want to mixed with G8. Thanks

Hi @Hendra 

That is. I have built heterogeneous clusters without further issues (With NX hardware G5, G6 and G7). If you follow the guide and follow the restrictions everything should work.

If you have doubts or are not 100% sure, i would recommend you to open a support case with the cluster which is being to be expanded and they will clarify this for your peace of mind.

Hi @bcaballero ,

In that link there was information from Hardware Restriction 

  • You can mix nodes that use different CPU families in the same cluster, but not in the same block. For example, a cluster can contain nodes from any NX generation, but a G7 block must contain only G7 nodes, a G8 block must contain only G8 nodes, and so on.

For this statement “a cluster can contain nodes from any NX generation” means there no limitation about combine old generation with new generation. But is it confirm there will be no issue about the combination like that?
