When I try to run the Nutanix foundation applet, Java tells me that the file does not meet high or very high security requirements and that it is missing a certificate. I can’t add it to the site exception list because the file: protocol is not secure. Some guidance would be helpful.

Hey Bob,
We don’t provide a certificate but there is a process to allow the applications to run.
This article is available on the portal: The Offline Foundation Applet Fails to Launch
Here is the pertinent process. To resolve this issue, do the following:
- Open Java Control Panel.
- Click the Security tab.
- Click Edit Site List to add an exception.
- Enter the path where the offline Java applet for Foundation is stored and click OK.
For example, enter the following:
file:///C:/Users/username/Downloads/foundation/FoundationApplet-offline/
Ensure that you have the ending slash "/"
- Launch the Foundation applet and the Foundation launcher should open successfully.
