Missing disks in Prism Element

Forum|alt.badge.img+1

Greetings,

In the Prism Element web console under the Hardware menu, there are drives on one of our nodes that are not showing up under the Diagram, but are showing under the Disk screen from the Table menu (see below).

As you can see, all disks are all online and confirmed via the CLI as well.

Our Nutanix versions are below.

I’ve restarted the Prism service for this node and still showed the same result.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you,

What do your alerts say? Based on the screenshots your resiliency is critical, you have 4 failed tasks and 7 critical alerts. Are they related to disks/servers in any way?

The alerts are just using default passwords and the failed tasks is from updating the FLOW.

I didn’t realize this but there is a bar that when you scroll to the right, the disks are there. But why are they showing up outside almost like they are external disks?

Hi E.,

I’ve never seen that before in Prism… I don’t have any blocks with more than 2 nodes in them, but that still looks like a valid strange bug to me. Maybe Prism is having trouble rendering disks properly because there are 3 nodes in the block? The output from the diagram is what I’d normally expect to see if there was one node instead of three:

In your table output I count 9 disks, but your diagram has 11 (disks 42 and 43 not shown in table). I’m assuming that with this weird scroll right all of your disks and nodes are accounted for (issue is purely aesthetic)? If you have a Nutanix support contract I’d report it for good measure, but it sounds like everything is working (and at least displaying) so at least operationally you have no open issues. I’d be curious to see how the diagram changes if you remove a node, but that’s probably more trouble than its worth. Sorry I can’t help more…
