Hello,

 

I am seeking your assistance with enabling replication on my cluster, which consists of 5 servers and 60 VMs.

 

I am undecided between Metro mode and Asynchronous mode on Prism Central. Given that I have two clusters using Metro-type replication, we encounter difficulties when Metro mode is activated, as clients experience significant slowdowns on their VMs. This is why I am considering enabling Asynchronous replication on Prism Central.

 

My question is: if I activate Asynchronous replication on Prism Central while other clusters are using Metro mode, will this have any impact?

Can share details about what you have, 

  1. Number of cluster, node per clusters.
  2. Number of sites, connectivity between sites

We have three production clusters and three backup clusters spread across two sites. On all these clusters, only Metro replication is enabled. I would like to know if I can activate asynchronous replication on Prism Central for one of these production clusters.

Yes, you can do that . keeping mind metro is enabled on container level where as Asynchronous will on VM level.  you can create protection policies based on the requriement and assign the VM to desire created polices.,
