We have a Bare metal server with Ryzen Threadripper cpu with A40 NVIDIA GPU Cards.

Can we install Community edition on a machine with AMD Ryzen cpu and can that work with A40 Nvidia GPU cards?

any insights will be helpfull.

Hi,

AMD Ryzen Threadripper is a Zen architecture so it’s supported by Nutanix CE.

For the GPUs, I think it could work as the version of the CE2.1 match the commercial one.

Maybe @ktelep have a definitive answer ?

For the gpu what you can try is pci passthrough.

Gpu passthrough will not work. That is only for nvidia grid cards: https://portal.nutanix.com/page/documents/solutions/details?targetId=TN-2038-AHV:gpu-passthrough.html

The Nvidia A40 GPU is one of the supported GPUs, so you will be able to do pass through for the whole A40 to a particular VM, if you wanted to run vGPUs with it, you’ll need to work with a partner/nVidia to purchase the appropriate GRID drivers.
