I’m trying to submit a trouble ticket with Nutanix support to see if they can help free up the licenses from systems 21 and system 24, so we can use those slots for 2 other systems. Devices are below:System 2117SM1322002117SM13220009 System 24 16AP1337000716AP13370009 Thank you,Chris Norfleetchristopher.email@example.com
I have what, I think, should be a simple request, but for the life of me I’m struggling with it. My boss would like a list of all file shares in Nutanix Files with a count of files inside those shares. I cannot seem to find a way to report on this via Files Dashboard or Analytics. A simple .csv export would be fine. If I drill down into an individual share, I can see the data I need, but I am not really keen on doing that for approximately 100 shares.
Hi community, I’m fairly new to interacting with Nutanix for automation and was hoping my VM build task would be a simple process but I’ve hit a wall with the guest tools install. I’m building a RDS environment where I need as little human interaction as I can get to make administration easier so I’m building my host VM using SCCM. I’ve multiple good reasons for approach but its mainly in support for application deployment via happening at build time. I’ve tried to install the guest tools manually but I believe they are failing due to the files being copied from a mounted ISO which has some dynamically created certificates involved so this isn’t going to work. I can see the ISO can be mounted using the API calls but every reference I’ve seen looks to need a username/password passing in the script and I’m not overly keen in hard coding creds into script. Most of what i’ve seen is a few years old so I wondered if there has been any changes to the approach to mounting guest tools? It
Hello People, Facing strange issues on deploying Nutanix 3 node cluster. Everything is completed without any issues deploying Nutanix. After restarted the nodes we are not able to reach AHV Node IPs after logging into ILO manually restarted the network services and then the AHV and CVM are reachable and all the cluster is normal. These happen only I restarted the nodes or shutting down AHV.Before restarting, network interfaces are up only. From Switch side we have configured access port VLAN tagged 1010. Here eth4 is connected on switch-1 port 1 and same eth6 is connected on switch-2 port 2 Note : Both switch-1 and switch-2 is stacked Model : Cisco SG350XG AOS : 18.104.22.168 LTSHere my config nutanix@NTNX-CVM:22.214.171.124:~$ allssh manage_ovs show_uplinks================== 126.96.36.199 =================Bridge: br0 Bond: br0-up bond_mode: active-backup interfaces: eth6 eth4 lacp: off lacp-fallback: false lacp_speed: slow================== 188.8.131.52 =================
Hi, I’m looking to understand the possible values for group_member_attributes in the POST /v3/groups request. I’ve gotten some examples from debugging the Prism UI requests (e.g. “project_name”, “vm_name”), but is there a full list published somewhere? I’d looked in the API docs and had a search of the forum but couldn’t see group_member_attributes detailed - apologies if I’ve missed it. Thanks in advance.
I have a 3 node AHV cluster that uses 2x200GB SSD + 2x6GB HDD disks for each node. Would it be possible to add nodes to this cluster that uses 2x480GB SSD + 2x6GB HDD disks?Option is to first upgrade the 200GB SSD disks to 480GB to align all nodes to the same hardware. Maybe there is some gain in that?
I am newbie for nutanix, please provide me the relevant information or links to gather the same information.I create a VM for windows 2022 and that can be done via Nutanix API. But once the VM is power on then 2022 desktop experience, i need to select things in order to proceed with installation. I want to automate this process.Create a VM Power ON the VM Complete windows server 2022 installationBasically, I want to install the windows 2022 without manual intervention. So, that with the single click or script full installation happens without waiting for my inputs. if it can be done via API or someone created script related to ansible or terraform to the same just let me know.
Hi, we currently have a 3-node cluster licensed with 50 VDI user-based licenses. We are planning to add another node to the same cluster and would like to know if we can do this without purchasing any VDI user-based licenses. VDI user license is based on maximum concurrent users, and we don't need more than 50 user licenses at the moment.
Hello all, i'm trying to build a very simple home lab so i can get through the NCP cert, hopefully prior to our new nutanix gear arrives at my work. at home i have an i7 8700k, 16gb of ram, and several HDDs. i also have a NAS device. i run windows 10 on my one available machine. my issue is this: i can only feasibly spare 12 gb of ram, and i dont have a dedicated 200 GB SSD, but i have several terabytes of HDD storage available. is it possible for me to get a home lab up and running with this config? using VMWare Workstation or something similar? thanks, Tony
I want to create a backup report that is sent to a specific email address everyday, which contains data protection status for the last 24 hours (both successful and failed).I have Prism Central, and have tried using the “Reports” feature. In that I have chosen a data table and configured it to show VMs in Data Protection. The report works, but I get no status about success or failed backups.I have also tried using the API, but cannot manage to get the info I want. How do you guys get backup reports/status? This is a requirement from our IT audit group, that we can show successful and/or failed backups every day.
