Update VirtualIO driver on RHEL vm

How i update the nutanix VirtualIO driver on RHEL 7.9 VM ?

I have a strange situation: vm configuration is set to 16 GB ram but OS see only 11 GB ram

Hi,

This is indeed strange issue here, i will advise to open ticket with Redhat / Nutanix. There was a known issues with lshw package, updating that might help.

Hi, have you installed NGT?  This should include the latest supported drivers.

Onestly I don’t know; I have migrate VM from VMWare to AHV using Nutanix appliance

You mean Nutanix Move?  Move will attempt to inject drivers if you give it the right permissions but they may not be up-to-date.  I would definitely recommend you install NGT (Nutanix Guest Tools) on the guest VM through Prism.

sorry for the late; I’ve done as suggest but os still view 11 Gb ram instead of 16 GB

Can u share the screenshot of VM memory configuration from prism and OS output of “free -m”

The strange fing is that encrease the RAM, OS see more ram but never the one set on VM configuration
