Actually it only does require a cluster shutdown if you have a 3 or 4 node cluster in a single 1000 or 3000 series block.Any other config, with 4 nodes spread over multiple 4N2U chassis', you do not have to do a cluster stop, just turn off the node powering the fan.Since you can just buy 2 12x0's or 2 32x0's for the same price as a 14x0 or 34x0 I would always buy that anyway. That allows you to easily avoid the issue with the fans and gives you space to easily expand the cluster.Same goes if you decide to buy 6 1000 or 3000 serie nodes. Buy 3 2-node configs and immedately benefit from Block Awareness without any configuration needed. With a 3 node 6000 series cluster, 3 nodes spread across 2 2N2U chassis, a cluster stop is also not needed, only the steering node needs a brief shutdown and the cluster will keep running.Just don't forget to put the host in maintenance mode so the VM's get evacuated first.
