Unable Delete File from Nutanix AFS share

You might try to track down who or what it’s locked by showing (filtering as needed) all SMB connections (NOTE that some of these are Files version 3.6 or later specific see the KBs for details.)

FSVM:$ afs smb.conn active=true verbose=true

FSVM: $ afs smb.conn active=true verbose=true | grep "10.1.2.3"

(replace sample IP address w client IPs that you may know)

Let me try the options suggested by you.

I’ve had same issue and followed listed articles recommended. The only fix in my case was to reboot the FSVM containing the locked file.

It’s been suggested to upgrade to the next update or the latest release of files by support.
