The wait is over! Omnissa Horizon 8 on Nutanix AHV is now Generally Available (GA), and this release is a big leap forward for Enterprise EUC in choice, flexibility and performance.
If Limited GA (LGA) was the amuse bouche, GA is the full plate. With this milestone, Horizon on AHV moves closer than ever to achieving feature parity with Horizon on vSphere, providing customers with the flexibility they’ve been asking for without sacrificing enterprise capabilities.

Enhanced Refresh Workflow (Recovery Points)
Adds recovery point capability for desktop refresh operations. This simplifies rollback and remediation, managing downtime, and improving resilience for business continuity. It’s like having an undo button for your desktops. One click and you’re back to a clean slate without the drama.
RDSH Automated Farms, Published Desktops and Apps
Full automation for RDSH farms and app publishing, including dynamic app delivery. Your teams can now eliminate manual farm creation and app publishing, enable faster scaling and streamline app delivery for large EUC environments.
Managed NVIDIA GPU Support for VDI/RDSH
Integrated vGPU profile management within Compute Profiles for Horizon workloads. This makes it easier to deliver high-performance virtual workstations for AI, design, healthcare, and analytics workloads while reducing complexity for admins.
ClonePrep Customization
Provides rapid customization of Virtual Machines during pool or farm creation. This provides IT teams with the flexibility to tailor desktop initialization to meet organizational requirements and enables consistent configurations across all pools. It’s like wielding your own lightsaber in the clone army, full control over how each desktop is born, so they all follow your command.
Workspace ONE Intelligence (WS1) Access Support
Integration with WS1 for analytics and identity-based access. This adds smarter insights into usage and performance trends while enforcing granular access policies for hybrid workforces.
Horizon Cloud Services Support (Monitoring, Help Desk)
Adds monitoring and help desk capabilities through Horizon Cloud Services. This simplifies troubleshooting and performance management, reducing complexity and streamlining issue resolution.
Multi-Network per Pool Support
Allows multiple VLANs or networks within a single desktop pool. This supports advanced networking configurations for segmentation, ideal for multi-tenant or complex enterprise environments. It’s like staying at a luxury resort with pools everywhere—each one tailored for a different vibe.
And Nutanix Service Providers are the lifeguards, keeping everything safe, optimized, and ready for your guests (or desktops) to dive in.
Server OS Support for VDI Pools
Adds support for Windows Server operating systems in VDI pools. This expands deployment options for organizations leveraging session-based desktops and specialized workloads, improving flexibility and cost optimization.
