Question

command to replace ovs0 bond interfaces

Forum|alt.badge.img+1

i need a nutanix command to change the ovs0 interfaces as the command :

nutanix@cvm$ manage_ovs --bridge_name br0 --interfaces eth0,eth2 --bond_name br0-up --bond_mode active-backup --require_link=false update_uplinks

from AHV 11.2 doesn’t work if the cvm doesn’t reach to the gateway ,so if there is a command from ahv do that searched and found that command but i not sure it is valued or not

ovs-vsctl set port br0-up interfaces=eth2,eth4

To make this clear. Currently vs0 uses eth0 and eth2 and you want it to use eth2 and eth4 correct? And the bond is active backup. What I would do is just open up prism element and change virtual switch to use the correct interfaces. This is much easier and failsafe to do.

Ass this is not CE. I highly recommend opening a support case with Nutanix to get te correct working command.

Hi @alysho ,

let us know if you have opened a case with Nutanix and if you did please share the command with community as well :)

Hi @alysho ,

if your cluster is still available and in good shape , you can use those commands to change the interface from the vs0:

first list all the host : acli host.list

next get the info from the vs0 : acli net.get_virtual_switch vs0

to update the vs0 :  acli net.update_virtual_switch vs0 host_uplink_config=xxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx:[eth2,eth4] where the host_uplink_config is the UID of the host that you want to update that you will have with the first command

you can add the bond type to it if needed : bond_type=kBalanceTcp lacp_timeout=kFast lacp_fallback=true quick_mode=true here is for LACP.

to verifiy that it has been applied : acli net.get_virtual_switch vs0

hope this will help
