Resolved Issues

  • Relaxed Validation: The nosuid mount option check for the /tmp directory can now be bypassed for PostgreSQL and MongoDB VMs by setting the relax_nosuid_mount_option_check flag to True. This resolves issues with database server VM registration failures when nosuid was enabled .

Important Notes and Cautions

  • Migration Limitations: NDB does not support the migration of the NDB server and agent to a different storage container within the same Nutanix cluster or to a different Nutanix cluster. User VMs managed by NDB cannot be migrated to a different Nutanix cluster ​​.
  • Protection Domains: Database server VMs provisioned with NDB should not be added to protection domains. If already part of a protection domain, registration is possible but does not ensure disaster recovery ​​.
  • Upgrade Requirements: Upgrading to NDB 2.5.5.1 requires the system to be on version 2.3 or higher. Post-upgrade, allow a minimum of 15 seconds before refreshing the page to load the latest UI ​​.
  • Unsupported Platforms: NDB does not support databases running on non-AOS platforms or database servers protected by metro availability. Active Directory authentication is not supported for Linux database servers ​​.
  • Snapshot Storage: For ESXi databases with eager zeroed thick disks, initial snapshots will require storage equivalent to the thick attached disks ​​.

Compatibility and Feature Support

  • Oracle: Support for multiple versions, including Oracle 11.2, 12.1, 12.2, 18.0, 19.0, and 21.3. Full functionality for copy data management, patching, and scaling for greenfield and brownfield environments .
  • SQL Server: Supports SQL Server versions from 2008 R2 SP3 to 2022 RTM on various Windows Server versions. Provides copy data management, patching, and database protection .

  • Recommended Browsers: For optimal user experience, use Mozilla Firefox 85+, Google Chrome 85+, Apple Safari 14.1+, or Microsoft Edge 113+ with a minimum resolution of 1280x800 pixels .
