Hello,

In NOS Version 4.1.3 SyncRep for Hyper-V is release, which enables to have stretch cluster on Hyper-V as mentioned in release notes, Is there any configuration guide or document highlighting similar to Metro Availibility Best Practise document but for Hyper-V.

Appreciate..

Hello,

Sync Rep uses the same underlying replication as metro availability, however, it is not supported as a single stretched cluster for Hyper-V. Sync Rep is intended for use across two different Nutanix and Hyper-V (or ESXi) clusters. There's a Nutanix Hyper-V storage guide which should be published very soon that will have some information. There are also details on the Nutanix portal. I believe you will be able to review the following as a guest: https://portal.nutanix.com/#/page/docs/details?targetId=Web_Console_Guide-NOS_v4_1:wc_synchronous_replication_hyperv_c.html

Please ask if you need more details.

Thanks,

Mike
Thanks for reply, so the SyncRep can be used when i need to have syncronous replication for either Hyper-V and ESXi, although the configuration will be same as configuration Metro Availibility and will be usefull when Asynchronous Replication RPO of 60 Min is resonable. For The configuation is we need to have saperate nutanix cluster as well as saperate hypervisor clusters at each site, which software edition will be able to have thsi feature as it is not listed on website feature diff list.

Anyway is there any chance, the Asynchronous Replication schedule to less be then 60 min.

Hello,

The license requirement for SyncRep would be the same as Metro, which falls under Ultimate edition. Currently the Async replication RPO is 60 min. Eventually this will be lower but I can't speak to expected timelines.

Thanks,

Mike
