Is there a requirement to have ESX enterprise plus licenses in an nutanix metro availability with manual failover/startup in case of issues in 1 cluster?

or will vmware standard licenses do? I don’t see the need for Ent+ licenses but had different feedback in the field.

thanks!

Hi,

With Nutanix MA, there is no manual failover/startup, it like Site. cluster HA, if cluster at site/dc fails the work load will be restarted to other cluster at other site/dc.

You don’t require ENT+ but strongly required for DRS feature, HA is part of standard licenses.

  • Nutanix strongly recommends enabling VMware vSphere HA and DRS.

While these features are not required, they improve performance and availability. If you choose to enable these features, make sure that the required vSphere licenses are installed.

The other option is to use sync replication.
