We are transferring vdisks from one Nutanix environment to another.  We are going from Euphrates 5.5.8 to Euphrates  5.9. The copy seems to work but then after a while (maybe 15 minutes) the files in the new environment disappear. We’ve tried this several times with the same results. One vDisk is around 26 GB and the other is 2 TB. Has anyone seen this and what is the problem and the solution?

Apologies for the delay. I have tested the scenario (uploaded a disk, created and image) and I still have the vDisk in the container. I would check the usage of the container before and after the disk disappearance (and several hours after to allow for Curator scans to run the clean up) to see if it’s deleted or somehow disappears from the listing. It is also interesting that your test VM was alright but a larger vDisk is having issues. AOS 5.9 is EOL but if I would suggest to open a support case if you can.

To better understand your issue, could explain the method of the transfer? How do you know that the vdisk disappears (not questioning your observations but trying to understand the components and symptoms)?

We have downloaded he vdisks onto an external hard drive. We have connected the hard drive to a laptop and are using WinSCP to transfer the vdisks to the storage container.  I did this last week with a test VM and it worked fine.  Yesterday, I immediately created an image when the vdisk was uploaded. The image is there but the vdisk has disappeared.
