I cant find much information on single node clusters other than requirements, limitations and how to create. Is there a management guide ? stopping starting destroying etc.

Depends on what version are you install.
If commercial, it is supported as a robo. If CE then without soft RAID. Any disk failure causes a problem with the cluster.
