Hello everybody,



is there any advise how to shut down the whole NX Block?

I got my first NX1465 and run foundation and build the cluster with AHV.After the first configuration steps i will power the whole block off to bring the NX into our datacenter.



So, i didn't find a "how to". Any ideas/hints?

When I had to move one of my clusters, I first shut down all my VM's except the CVM's, connected to a CVM and issued the "cluster stop" command, shutdown each CVM, shut down the physical host hypervisor, and removed power. I have not done it with AHV so I can't speak to that process specifically, but I imagine it should follow the same general steps.
1 - Shutdown any guest VM's

3 - Shutdown CVMs and Nodes: https://portal.nutanix.com/#/page/docs/details?targetId=AHV_Admin-AHV_v4_7:ahv_node_shutdown_ahv_t.html

4 - Move and power on the nodes from the normal power buttons

5 - CVM's should come up by themselves

6 - Start Nutanix Cluster - see previous document



Should be good to go after that

I've implemented the metro availability between two sites.

I've to shut down nx block for moving it in another site.

Have I to stop the metro availability? Have you got a procedure?

You need to make sure all VM's are moved over, and the containers are promoted to primary on the other side, but then you should be able to move it without modifying much of anything.



I'd DEFINITELY recommend getting a support ticket for air cover.
