I have a difficult problem, and have no idea how to fix them. I installed Nuntaix CE on VMWare Workstation 17 Player, however when I enabled the CVM, there were two errors as below, please help me, if you have some methods to fix. Thank you very much

Give the vm more memory in vmware. Or reduce cvm memory https://www.jeroentielen.nl/change-nutanix-community-edition-cvm-memory/

Hi Jeroen,

Thank you very much for your support. I followed your instruction, however CVM still can’t be booted. Is there any setting which I need change?

Hi Jeroen:

For VMWare VM memory, it is 32GB as your setting, and I just have the only one Nutanix VM in VMWare workstation 17, no other VM else. for CVM memory, I also follow your setting which is 20971520 KiB. But two errors are different.

Before changing CVM Memory Size

error:Failed to start domain 'NTNX-585513c2-A-CVM'
error:internal error:process exited while connecting to monitor:2024-08-27T23:16:09.4367222 gemu-kvm:unable to map backing store for guest RAM:Cannot allocate memory

After changing CVM Memory Size
error:Failed to start domain 'NTNX-585513c2-A-CUM'
error:internal error:qemu unexpectedly closed the monitor:2024-08-28T01:56:35.1491692 gemu-kvm:unable to map backing store for guest RAM:Cannot allocate memory

Hmmm. Strange.

The error indicates that there is not enough memory (in the virtual machine) to start the CVM.

Can you give the virtual machine more memory (lets say 48GB) and reinstall CE2.1 on it?

32GB is the bare minimum and can cause issues (as you already noticed). In the documentation (link) the recommended ram is at least 64GB.
