Nutanix BIOS upgrade for NX-3155G-G7

Hi all,

I have some NX-3155G-G7s which were purchased from Nutanix some time ago and the business has stopped using the Nutanix HV OS and the support contract that went with it.

I am looking to upgrade the BIOS and firmware etc. on the servers and am having a hard time finding helpful information on how to go about it exactly.

Is it possible to find the correct instructions on how to go through this on the platform along with the relevant binary downloads please?

Sadly, the business has no appetite to renew their support contract with Nutanix so I’m in a bit of a bind.

It would be super helpful if anyone has any information on this.

Thanks in anticipation

Hi Disk,

Don’t worry there simple and step to step guide for that. it will be super helpful for you.

Just go through this simpler and easy to understand guide / article:

How to upgrade Nutanix software AHV, AOS, All-type of Firmware on any hardware through LCM upgrade

Note: Just see LCM upgrade section on this post.

thank you,

Thanks Manish,

Sadly, that doesn’t really help me.

As I understand it, LCM is a proprietary Nutanix application which I don’t have access to. I have no support contract with Nutanix and management are persistent they want nothing to do with them at this point.

Are there any alternative ways to upgrade the BIOS which doesn’t involve Nutanix support? Or is it the case that I’m completely locked out?

If so, they’ll be first on the list to get refreshed.

Thanks very much for your help on this

Is nutanix still running on the nodes? If so, just run LCM. It will work without license.

If you are not able to get the binaries from download.nutanix.com, then you can ask someone with same models to download the binaries and share it with you.

but be really careful, if any of nodes goes down due to firmware upgrade (as you dont have active support) and if this is your production, you will be on your own :)

This is not production. Because they dont have support ;)

So long story short, are you running nutanix? Ifso, just run LCM and the firmware updates will be there.
