is it safe to add an extra management vmknic on esxi hosts?

Hi all,
we're on AOS 4.7.2 with vmware 6.0 upd 2
I was thinking to add a secondary vmknic management interface on all esxi hosts
(to be used for backups) doing that just on vmware config without touching anything in cluster config?

Go for it, I've done this myself before, works fine. Very similar to adding a dedicated interface for vMotion

    Go for it, I've done this myself before, works fine. Very similar to adding a dedicated interface for vMotion
