How to get WinPE drivers for a Nutanix system when I cannot activate my account in support portal | Nutanix Community
Skip to main content

I am trying to get the WInPE drivers so I can support our virtual device hosted on a Nutanix system.  However, every link directs me to the Nutanix support page where I have to activate my ID with a licence code or serial number.  I am the consumer of the system, I have none of these values, and my server team who might have these will not give me the codes.  What can I do to get the drivers I need so I can do my job and test our OSD processes with a Nutanix VM client?

You will need the Nutanix drivers from the support page, your server team should be able to provide you with the Nutanix Guest tools, either a msi or iso, and that would have everything you need.

You dont need the ngt but you need the virtio drivers. They can be downloaded via downloads —> ahv—> virtio. Yes you need an account. But the nutanix administrator should have one and can download the virtio drivers for you.

Some extra information: If you want to create an iso file with the virtio drivers in it here is a powershell script to do that: https://www.jeroentielen.nl/slipstream-virtio-drivers-into-windows-iso-to-use-on-nutanix-ahv/

Thanks for the replies.  It took a while, but we finally found someone that had access and could get us the drivers.  Just unusual behavior on Nutanix’s part.  I have not encountered any other vendor who hid their drivers behind needing a super secret validated account.  There’s nothing special about the drivers that I could tell that warrented them being hidden from general view.
