Connecting active cluster to new physical switch

There's a few ways to do it, and you've covered some of them already.

The first question I'd ask is whether your new switches connect upstream to the same core or such ensuring something on old can see something on new at high bandwidth.

Prism Element network view can help you figure out which NIC is active in the active/backup too to help take away some guess work.

But ultimately yes moving one NIC at a time is normal, but you'd be wise to do it in maintenance mode just incase you've missed a vlan or such.

There is a direct connection between the new and old switches. I think I will put them in maintenance mode before switching them although I was hoping not too as maintenance mode on Nutanix always seems to take an age. I was hoping to just switch the passive interfaces over to the new switch and then move the active interfaces over one node at a time but better to be save than sorry I suppose.

Maintenance mode is the way to go. If you really dont want to do this you can do it interface for interface and dont do the maintenance part. But you need to be 100% sure the switch is proper configured.
