Upgrade Software - File Server - stuck downloading | Nutanix Community
Skip to main content

So my 1st dive into Nutanix and I’m stuck at the first hurdle. I’ve setup a 1 node cluster to start with on a supermicro server with a decent enough spec and am just getting it ready to start experimenting but I can’t get the File Server updated. Everything else is running current versions but I have the below. I’ve had a quick look for some CLI guides but can’t see how to get more info on why this would be stuck. Very odd considering everything else updated without issue. Rules out the normal access, DNS issues etc.

Any idea how I can clear these jobs? Rebooting etc does not clear them.

I was just able to update NCC from 4.2.0.2 to 4.3 via the same method without issue.

Thanks!

I’m not sure why it got stuck. I suggest you to kill tasks as written in following guide: https://hyperhci.com/2020/02/14/how-to-kill-nutanix-stuck-hung-task-via-command/

If you File server is installed don’t bother updating it, since issue may appear again.

Thanks Primzy, I think this is the KB I tried a week or so ago (rage quit lol) 1st command output does not match the output and the 2nd one returns no jobs:

So just an update on where I am with this. Stopping the cluster and starting it again “Cluster stop” does not resolve the issue. The stuck downloading process is still there.

cluster destroy” and recreate does resolve the issue as you may indeed think however the issue happened again as soon as I went to upgrade using the from online option.

I’m just going to try a new cluster again and use the from file option and see if that works..

I can’t seem to find any download links just for files? Am I missing something?

Files can only be downloaded trough Prism, Upgrade software tab which you used earlier.
