I recently built a Nutanix CE 3-node cluster on ESXi. The cluster’s up and I want to add a 4th identical node so I can replace node 1 (I have another thread on the disk skew issue I’m seeing there), but the precheck cassandra_ssd_size_check fails when preparing to add the new node (SSD tier on nodes du'xx.xx.xx.xx'] is not sized to accomodate expected metadata growth on cluster).
I wonder if this is a bug because the same NCC Health Check (cassandra_ssd_size_check) runs every hour on the cluster without any problems, and the new node is identical in its disk sizes to the existing nodes.
Is there a log somewhere that would tell me what it checked and how/why it failed?
Is there a way to verify which disk was assigned to Data and which to CVM boot during install? All of the commands I can thus far locate just tell me info on the virtual disks.
