Image Sharing between Multiple Prism Clusters | Nutanix Community

Hi Team,

im planning to use packer to build image, but this will upload to one specific cluster in the Prism, eventhough it having multiple cluster connected, it wouldnt be sharing. is there a way we can achieve share the images from one cluster to other cluster, if all the cluser in the one prism central. i have ref https://portal.nutanix.com/page/documents/details?targetId=Prism-Central-Guide-Prism-v5_17:mul-images-manage-pc-c.html, pl let me know is there any api we can use to do ?

Hi,

yes, upload your image to PC - then the image will be placed directly on the selected clusters or you can also work with image placement policies to make intelligent decisions where to place the images.

thanks ​@manfred . Right now im using packer to create images which is pointing to one cluster ( again the prism is connected with multiple other cluster ), how to propogate the images in other cluster, so that i can spin vm on those cluster. Can you pl help ?

you can to “import image” in prism central - there you can select the image from the one cluster to be imported to prism central.  it may take up to 15 minutes before the image is available for other clusters.
