Today we are introducing the Nutanix Certified Professional – Cloud Native (NCP-CN) 7.5 Beta exam, designed to validate the skills required to deploy, configure, manage, and operate Nutanix Kubernetes Platform (NKP) clusters across modern cloud native environments. The exam measures a candidate's ability to work with Kubernetes-based infrastructure, perform lifecycle management tasks, secure and monitor environments, and manage multi-cluster operations using NKP.
The NCP-CN 7.5 Beta exam is intended for professionals with hands-on experience building and managing Kubernetes clusters, working with Linux, and administering cloud native platforms. Successful candidates typically include DevOps Engineers, Cloud Engineers, NKP Administrators, Platform Engineers, Site Reliability Engineers, and Solution Architects.
What Skills Are Measured?
The NCP-CN 7.5 Beta exam is organized around four key skill domains:
- Prepare the Environment for an NKP Deployment
- Manage Building an NKP Cluster
- Perform Day 2 NKP Operations
- Conduct NKP Fleet Management
Candidates are expected to demonstrate knowledge of Nutanix Kubernetes Platform (NKP) 2.17, Kubernetes administration concepts, cluster deployment workflows, lifecycle management, security, monitoring, logging, backup and recovery, and multi-cluster management. The exam assesses practical knowledge needed to operate enterprise Kubernetes environments at scale.
Key skills include:
- Preparing deployment environments by seeding private registries, creating bootstrap clusters, selecting appropriate licensing tiers, configuring bastion hosts, building machine images, and gathering infrastructure requirements for target platforms.
- Deploying and customizing NKP clusters and Kommander environments using the NKP CLI, Cluster API resources, custom manifests, licensing options, and deployment configurations for air-gapped and connected environments.
- Performing Day 2 operations including authentication and authorization management, logging configuration, backup and recovery with Velero and NDK, health and performance monitoring, cluster autoscaling, and lifecycle management functions such as upgrades and node pool management.
- Managing NKP fleets through workspace and project configuration, workload cluster deployment, cluster attachment and detachment, access control administration, GitOps and continuous deployment workflows, and platform application management across multiple clusters.

To prepare for the NCP-CN 7.5 Beta exam, Nutanix recommends the Nutanix Cloud Platform Administration (NKPA) course. The course aligns directly to the exam objectives and covers NKP deployment, lifecycle management, cluster operations, security and access control, monitoring, logging, backup and recovery, platform applications, and fleet management. Candidates should also have hands-on Kubernetes and Linux experience, with knowledge comparable to the Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) level.
